How can we have a bad record yet our AAA farm team the Durham Bulls are leading their division and have one of the best records in the IL.
Because they aren't trotting out multiple guys with a sub-.200 batting average on a consistent basis like the big club is.
The Red Sox are very hot right now. They have won 7 straight. There is a long way to go, but the wildcard could come down to Toronto or Boston. It wasn't so bad losing, when the Red Sox were playing like garbage also. But now, the Rays are in danger of completely falling out of contension. They better snap out of it soon.

This snippet from an ESPN article about the game last night is pretty telling. The Rays' eight-game losing streak is their longest since 2009. They've lost 10 consecutive road games while being outscored 52-19.Such high hopes before the season, Maddon calling it the deepest team he has coached etc. A lot of injuries but it seems to go beyond that. I give it another month and if things haven't turned around I expect to see a lot of trades.
The offense is horrible. Feel sorry for the pitching staff.
