They drafted Casey Gilaspie [sp?] with the #20 pick. Supposed to be quite the hitter. But even if he is, it will be awhile before he works his was through the minor leagues. I think the Rays need more immediate help.
Going back 4-5 years this team has before almost exactly the same as far as batting avg. That's a huge problem. Bottom 5-6 for that long with different players? That's a MGMT issue.

Are you saying that the batting coach has zero influence on hitters? That they do nothing? MGMT created the philosophy of working the count and taking pitches. Our hitters are constantly behind in teh count because they are told not to swing. Let the boys hit for a change. It is a top down philosophy. Maybe that clears things up for you. Maybe not.

Agree. They are overthinking everything big time. They seem paralyzed by whatever they are being instructed to do. Just let them play ball. Let them use their instincts for the game, they got to the major leagues doing just that. They are not a bunch of little league kids that don't know which base to run to after a hit. Although this season, they could be mistaken for a little league team.
