If we trade Price we need to get a high profile bat in here. The offense stinks out loud has been for awhile and "pitching and defense" can only hold up for so long.
I stated in this thread back in the winter time that 23 year old Billy Hamilton of the Reds was a possibility. It was not my original idea, rather I read it in a Cincinnati article. The "fastest man in baseball" would have been a tailor-made lead off man for years here. Can forget it now, most likely, as the switch hitting CF, (who got off to a terrible start) is now batting .275, 35 stolen bases, 34 RBI's in 306 plate appearances. And by the way, just to update, the Rays will now have to go 49-21 to reach 90 wins. or a .700 winning percentage from this day forward.
The Reds were never trading Billy Hamilton. They let Shin Soo Choo walk in Free Agency with the plan of Hamilton filling his OF and leadoff position.
Thanks a lot for James Shields, he has completely quit on the Royals team.
7 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, and 10 K in a shutout victory on Monday night, to go 9-4 with a 3.71 ERA for the year.Good call.
First good start in nearly 2 months.

For 2 full years of David Price it was absolutely conceivable. Hamilton had a 2013 season at Louisville that was, not bad by any means, but still below expectations. It was even being debated whether or not he needed another year in AAA, taking into account his switch from ss to cf. The Reds were still making qualifying offers for Choo in December, just prior to the winter meetings. The suggestion of a Price for Hamilton trade came up at the time of the meetings. Choo signed with the Rangers afterwards.

The suggestion of trading David Price, a Cy Young award winner, for a player whose bat had question marks and was changing positions was/is laughable. Friedman would have been an idiot to make that trade.
