You wait and keep. He goes this off-season. No way they trade him now. Never going to happen and when he does get traded he will be traded to someone that will sign him long term. He'll have some input.
He'll retire as a Ray, its all good.
3.5 back of the wildcard.
Rays would be stupid to not trade Price even with the recent success of the team it makes more sense for long term.
Agree 100%The longer they hold onto him, the less return they will get. They can hold onto him the rest of the season, and even next season too. If they are willing to get zero return when he becomes a free agent after 2015 season. His trade value is at the highest point right now. If they wait until after the season, it will be about 50% less. But I guess its not out of the question they keep him until his contract is up. It all depends on what Freidman [sp?] does between now and the trade deadline July 31st. But once he becomes a free agent, they have zero chance of signing him. The big market teams will blow the Rays offer out of the water. I have met him a couple times, and I get the sense he wants to hit it out of the park on what will likely be his last big time contract. I think he has the Yankees and Dodgers in mind. Its funny, the Yankees drafted him out of high school, and he declined their offer, he decided to play college ball. I think he might regret that move, and now is looking to make it right.
I have never hated a player more than that fat ass, cheater ortiz.
