+1Really is a historically bad trade. THIS is the deal they had to pull the trigger on now? WTH. Dombrowski just worked over Friedman and Rays fans know it. I mean, best case scenario: Smyly is a solid starter, Franklin is the next Ben Zobrist in two years, and Adames is Escobar in 4 years. Rays traded Cy Young winner David Price (in his prime) for that?!

Lester supposedly has an agreement with the Red Sox to return after the World Series, assuming the A's are in it. He and Big Papi have exchanged tweets saying, can't wait until we are on the same again bro. So the A's gave up a pretty good player to rent Lester for a couple months. The point being, the Price deal does not look so bad after hearing about that arrangement.

Agreed, it does not. You get what you get now, and who knows, Smyly, Franklin, and/or Adames might work out. Regardless, if Price was still a Ray, the team would still be 10.5 games out of first place. Smyly nor Price can/could Win when the Rays get shutout.
