Best places to live in Tampa Bay area?

Hey all, been casually reading the site for a while and thought I would ask all the fans here:

If you were moving to the area from another part of the country, where would you choose to live?

I'm mainly looking for a nice, safe, middle/upper middle suburban kind of place, good schools, safe for kids, all of that, but not too far out of the city. Not worried about how hip or cool the area is really, just a good place to raise a family.

Any recommendations or places to avoid?
