just so its not lost in the race thread, very very big claim in the Flores lawsuit - the Dolphin owner bribed him to throw games in 2019 for the #1 pick.
very sensational claim that would be a future defamation suit if false. Two things standout:
1) Attorney says they HAVE PROOF and he's specific about it:
"“We’re going to prove that if this case continues to go,” Douglas Wigdor told CNN. “There’s going to be corroborating evidence, there’s going to be other witnesses, there’s going to be emails and texts. We’re confident in that allegation. As Brian said, you don’t just make that up.”
2) Dolphins issued two very different denials:
On race discrimination they said this:
“vehemently deny any allegations of racial discrimination and are proud of the diversity and inclusion throughout our organization denied the allegations made in the suit.”
but on the bribery claim a much more careful response:
"“The implication that we acted in a manner inconsistent with the integrity of the game is incorrect,” the statement continued. “We will be withholding further comment on the lawsuit at this time."
The biggest concern for the Dolphins has to be the throwing games part because Flores even says that's not something you lie about and he's right, not only is his career over but big defamation suit by very powerful owner
