Very unusual to have massive success twice, decades apart.
He changed the character of George’s dad, so it wasnt just a great part. The character was written as controlled by his wife, not combative. He ad libbed the combativeness and they went with it.
Comedy legend and married 61 years before his wife and comedy partner passed a few years ago
