Just thinking of the left wing position on this post makes my head spin. Why are you posting this? It's because he's black isn't it? Shame on you!

This is my district and I proudly cast my vote for this guy yesterday morning and waited up to see if he won last night. He did.

In one of the ugliest and most expensive house races in the country 9 Republicans battled for the seat left vacant by exiting Francis Rooney (R). It was just the primary but the democrat has zero chance so last night was essentially the election. The race boiled down to 4 candidates, two self funded (Kasey Askar, and Dr William M. Figlesthaler) both spent millions of their own money and two traditional candidates who had to rely on fundraising (Byron Donalds and Dane Eagle). Donald's and Eagle ended up 1, 2 at the end of the day but the race was brutal and as some of you may have seen yesterday on CNN, ended on a low note with a text message sent to thousands of voters on election day that said Donald's had dropped out of the race and even provided a link to a video of Donald's dropping out of another race back in 2012.

Donald's pulled it out anyway.

I supported this guy because he was the most libertarian leaning of all the candidates and was endorsed by Rand Paul and Freedomworks. That is the sole reason I got so excited about this guy because my representatives have been middle of the road Republicans and old white guys my whole life. It is exciting to feel I have someone heading to Washington who finally stands with me on most of the issues. I finally will have a representative who represents me.

One more thing about the Trumpety Trump Trumpiest nature of this particular race. Every single candidate claimed to be the most Trumpy of all. There were no anti Trump candidates inside the top 4. Interestingly though, quite a lot of the attack ads were directed at the other candidates for not being Trumpy enough and most of the Rebuttals were about how the other candidates were lying and they really were the Trumpiest of all the candidates. So there's that which I think is just interesting.

No question I'm also posting this because of the uncomfortable conversations black Republicans in white districts cause Democrats. Doesn't fit their story. Donald's could make some noise in the house. I have to admit that while he is my kind of candidate anyway, I enjoyed voting for a black man in 2020. Proof that the world really is how I see it. Most people/republicans are not racists.
