Sicly from an ancient Greek perspective

Sicly, from a Muslim and then Viking's perspective!
-As a Navy brat, I got to move around; one of my favorites was Sicily. So, it was good to find these two documentaries just . . today!
The Greek temples documentary doesn't mention that Sicily was home to Archimedes. It shows the natural land arch, which isn't too far from Syracuse, and the Syracuse theater. I know I hung around the same place that Archimedes lived.
I was struck by the mention of the Greeks were much interested in literature than the Persians. I always like to point out that the Romans didn't produce one mathematician.
- IN terms of the Normans, it's interesting how the Normans conquered both Britain, and Sicily at much the same time. The documentary mentions translating Ptolemies Almagest - that's news for me!
