Which needs to be aggressively fixed if need be. First is we only have 1 guy that can get YAC (DJax). If he gets hurt or needs a breather the offense is no longer dynamic. Best way to remedy this IMO is a trade up for Corey Davis IF he is within striking distance. The other option is Dalvin Cook, when he gets the ball in his hands he is hard to chase and bring down. If Licht traded up 2-3 spots for Cook, I don't think I'd be mad since we still severely lack functional speed. 1 guy is not enough. Hopefully we get lucky and either Davis or Cook fall to 19 and we don't have to trade up.
As for John Ross...he's not even in the conversation for me due to his small frame, hands which are decent at best (also small), and also his injury history. This guy could definitely prove me wrong but too many concerns for me at the moment.
But the other weakness is our oline, which is arguably the worst in our division. We can have all the weapons in the world but success will rely on whether guys like Smith and Dotson can do the job. Their blocking is nothing stellar and is it even solid?? Who knows what happens at LG, that position for us seems cursed (Sears, Nicks, Sweezy).
But last thing is I hope we dump Hawley. I rather have Mangold or even EDS than a center that looks like he's barely 270 & it shows when you watch the film. No push.
I'm curious to what happens next with this team, they are close but need a few tweaks on offense to score enough points to help the defense out.
