Tim Wright got a lot of opportunities because Mike WIlliams was out. Is he good enough to still get those chances when Mike comes back? Maybe. Or maybe he is Alex Smith 2.0. He had a couple impressive games and a few impressive catches....but mostly he averaged about 3 catches for 30 yards per game. He didn't dominate anyone or make amazing plays. He could end up being good enough to be our starting TE long term or he could be a very average WR that got a lot of targets due to a depleted receiver corps. Either way he is undersized for a TE and sucks as a blocker AND as I mentioned we have nothing else when it comes to TE....so we need a TE. At least in my opinion we do. If Wright comes back in 2014 bulked up and has improved his blocking, maybe he does end up being our guy.....but having two stud TEs is not a bad thing. Putting him and Jenkins on the field at the same time along with Mike Wll and VJax would be pretty sick.
if all the TEs are gone at round 2draft another position and dont force it

I think Kelvin Benjamin is the best receiving threat in this draft aside from Watkins. If we can get him in the second, I do it but otherwise I think a tight end is a wasted pick.I love Benjamin. Think he's an unstoppable force if his head is in the game.

Not so sure drafting Benjamin would be forcing it though.
Sammy Watkins would add a dimension of speed and explosiveness. Good pick.
Tim Wright is a baller. Forget TE. We need YAC and if you want that Watkins is the man.
JDub....I'll argue your point about Watkins vs OLine.Watkins will make his money on screens, slants, and some slot duty working open space underneath with a high ratio of YAC. These routes will be 3 step drop max, focused on getting the ball out of the QB's hand asap, and getting it to your playmaker. These routes are most effective in the face of a blitz or rush, and negate the need for the extra seconds needed that you referred to. It's a bit of a chicken or the egg scenario. Do you sacrifice a second on the rush for a dynamic playmaker that will shorten the rush time, or give the QB an extra second in the pocket but have a lesser playmaker. To me, Watkins is Harvin. Put him in the backfield, send him deep, run screens and slants and let him do his thing all over the field.
Some of you seem to be sayin, hell, we got our TE, were good. As J-man mentioned, Wright is terrible at blocking. I love the guy, but is definitely a receiving type TE. They are going to need more than 1 TE, so if they draft one, you would have to assume it for his blocking skills.
Puke Stocker sucks but he can block. So can Crabtree.

Agreed on Crabtree. Stocker needs to be cut

Its hard to display your great blocking skills from the IR list.

Benjamin is a WR so that's definitely not forcing things. hes not a slot but big WRs are handy
Gotta deal with the draft board that you have. I mean, if Clowney or Matthews is there, I wouldn't hesitate to take them over Watkins. And if you like Carr or one of the OTs in this scenario, that's cool. And if the team could get decent value trading down, I'd be all for that. But I'm personally not wild about Carr and like Watkins better as a prospect than the remaining OTs. And you can't count on being able to get a good trade offer. While I'm generally one of the people pounding the "just saying BPA is oversimplifying things" drum, I do like Watkins in this scenario. It helps that he really does fill a need as well.
The Bucs should be in good shape at 7. They can use OL, DL and potentially a QB and one of those positions should be available in a quality player. Watkins fills a specific player need, IMHO, that being dynamic offensive ability.
I don't see how the Bucs pass on Carr for Watkins.
