No way the Bill would draft E.J. Manuel over Glennon if they got a mulligan. They already have a better version of E.J. Manuel in Thad Lewis.

That's why you don't judge guys off of 1 season. Lewis doesn't have nearly as much talent and his ceiling is now where close to Manuels'

Disagree.E.J. Manuel and Thad Lewis are and always will be 'meh' players.

Perhaps, but I think EJ has earned another look next season.

While it's far to soon to be doing redrafts and making final judgments on players it does put the whole "wins are worthless, give me the higher pick" drivel into perspective.

LOL , sure does.

Part of the problem is there was so much emotion put into the opinions being generated.  Many hated the replacement of Freeman, and were pissed for weeks after it happened even though they now claim to have agreed with the move.  Some still want Josh back.  Some hated him the very first time they saw his face.  So they were never going to look at Glennon objectively.  But even people who weren't obsessed with Freeman, when watching the Bucs this year, were watching with depression.  The "wow" throws and plays he made were barely noticed through the fog of apathy that we all felt. The negatives were magnified by the anger at the fail of the organization as a whole.  Our judgments of Glennon are horribly skewed by circumstance.

That's a ridiculous statement. EJ Manuel is raw but he will improve. Thad Lewis is backup material at best.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the posts in quotes, they weren't about Glennon, it was comments only those that pray for losses because it gets you a higher pick and "guarantees" a better player. How odd that the #1 player in this redraft is the one taken with the pick we gave away for Revis. Now in terms of Glennon, I think he's trash, that has nothing to do with Freeman who was trash himself & everything to do with watching him play and his ineffectiveness for all but 2 drives a game, we're not talking about him doing average or bad, we're talking about doing NOTHING, sure he had bad coaches and the talent around him was lacking but that doesn't cover the total lack of effectiveness for the bulk of the game. The guy has nice stats, I'll give him that but he didn't look close to being starter material on the field, rookie or not.

So if he had nice stats ,  your statement that there was a "total lack of effectiveness" simply isn't true , correct ?You are right about the tanking for a higher pick thing though ...you can look at every draft in history and see what that quarantees you : Nada.

Noone ever claimed that a higher draft pick guaranteed a team a better player.  The argument was always that it increased your chances of getting a better player.  *Obviously* there's an immense amount of uncertainty in the draft.
