"255 is really light for a down lineman in a 4-3."It's not at all uncommon for them to come into the NFL at that weight and then put on 15-20 pounds.
Barr has the frame to get bigger. Mack is the better player, but he looks maxed out.
I always thought he looked bigger than he was listed. BARR has to be on the radar now.
The athleticism out of this OL group is unreal.Like your list, JD.

Thanks. It is crazy though. It use to be so funny to watch the fat boys do all these drills.....now they are scary athletic. Entirely different situation than it was just 5 years ago.
I hope this Mack hype lets Barr drop to us
Jace Amaro runs like Puke Stocker.

I hope Barr falls past us and we take a guy who isn't just an athlete.

Yeah. Not very impressive. But in his defense, Amaro can run people over and drag defenders downfield.I would be much more concerned about a player like ASJ who is slow and turns to melted butter when anyone even touches him.Is ASJ not doing any drills at all other than the bench press?
Just lpoked it up online.ASJ has a broken foot.Softie.
Ebron runs two 4.5 40s but is officially a 4.6Stud.
Idk about really good. Average arm length, maybe slightly below average for someone that height? Certainly not a big minus though. 255 is really light for a down lineman in a 4-3. Works in college, but how many NFL ends play at that weight? Now 6'5 is definitely enough height to suggest he can put some more good weight on his frame. Is he a broad shoulder body type? That's not the impression I've gotten but honestly haven't seen any good pictures to say definitely either way.
Simeon?
Listed at 268 from what I can find. Weighed in at 259 at the combine. I think Barr is athletic and explosive, but I don't know that I would put him close to a Simeon Rice level. Rice was a freak, so he could get away with that weight because he flat got after the quarterback. I don't know that Barr is that level of pass rusher.

I'm saying he will have to because playing at 255 really isn't an option for a 4-3 end. So you have to project what he will look like on the field with that additional weight, how long it will take him to put on that much productive weight, and whether he has the frame (not just height) to handle it well. Mack is another guy who I don't think projects as an every down 4-3 DE. I see him playing outside lb in a 4-3 and putting his hand on the ground only in obvious passing situations (when you're taking lbs out of the game anyway). Nothing wrong with that. Would rather have an every down DE, but I can see that role working well for Mack. Does Barr project as a guy who can play 2 downs at olb in a 4-3 scheme? If so, he's fine at 255. If he's going to be an every down DE he probably needs to put on 15 more pounds minimum. No reason at all he can't do that pretty quickly and keep his athleticism/explosion. Just that it's easier to take a guy like Clowney who is already at the weight that meets that minimum you'd like for an every down DE.
Ebron 4.6 ...let the Vernon Davis comparison officially dIe.
Barr is 20 pounds heavier than he was listed in college. He still has room to add weight. I'd be perfectly fine with either him or Mack at 7, honestly. They both have really good things about the both of them. In Barr's case he could easily put up another 10 to 15 pounds with ease.
With Bridgewater's frame concerns now eliminated, what remaining knock on him is there?
