That's not bad
But not great either...Barr's quickness/speed was supposed to be one of his strongest attributes .
His first ten was 1.56. That's what matters.
Kony Ealy has the third best 3-cone time (6.83) among DLs since 2006. Tied with Melvin Ingram. That is outstanding.
Louis Nix:
Khalil Mack 6'3" 251lbs 40 time - 4.65 10 yard split - 1.56 bench reps - 23 arm length - 33 1/4" 3 cone - 7.08 20 yard shuffle - 4.18Anthony Barr 6'5" 255lbs 40 time - 4.66 10 yard split - 1.56 bench reps - 15 arm length - 33 1/2" 3 cone - 6.82 20 yard shuttle - 4.19Aaron Donald 6'1" 285lbs 40 time - 4.68 10 yard split - 1.59 bench reps - 35 arm length - 32 5/8" 3 cone - 7.11 20 yard shuttle - ?? ??

It's weird that he could do that when his 10, 40, vert, and broad jump all sucked.

I was expecting a much better 40 from Barr, I was expecting low 4.5's, but definitely not a 4.66. I'm not sure how much the weight he added affected him, but I like his 10 yd split - you can definitely see that burst on film. His speed won't be an issue, I'm still worried about his ability to anchor and be an every-down DE in our system, however.
Barr plays fast, that is all we need to know. He either compares to Simeon Rice ( if he can svelte up to 265), as an end, or Gaines Adams. I wouldn't want him as an end. If the Bucs can get Hardy, or MB back, they could draft Barr to play linebacker. Disguise who is coming effectively. I'm wArming up to Barr as a LB. No as a DE. I doubt he is Rice.

He'd be a giant SLB, but I've seen him cover slot receivers underneath and play a lot of zone coverage here at UCLA. I'm very interested to see how Lovie would use him, I feel it might even move us away from a constant Cover 2 shell. I would go as far as to say that he would allow us to line up in a 34 shell by allowing us to play our best pass rushers on passing downs and disguise blitzes - we could rush him, David, or Watson.
Barr is 4.66 , which means he is fast enough to run down Johnny Freakin Football who ran a 4.68. How much faster does he really need to be ? LOL
Lavonte David ran a 4.65 and he never seems too slow on the field.

That's exactly what I said. David is like Mack and Barr in the fact that if you watch them on tape they definitely play faster in pads.
Barr only did 15 reps on the bench? That's a big red flag. Weak.

By big red flag, you mean of course you could see him with a big red flag on his helmet? Or... Did I read too much into that?

I read it the same way, so unless we're both just being trolls, it's most definitely what he meant.
