I think Jared Allen could really be a revitalizing force for this defense. His tenacity and ability to get into opponent's heads is just what we need.

With the pass-happinessof the NFL these days, teams already replace a LB with another DB on many downs. I'd rather have a S in pass coverage than a LB anyway. Barron at 215 is almost a LB. Truth is we have 2 SS's now, and Byrd is a true FS. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Yep. With Barron playing down in the MLB spot and David/Foster on each side of him.....with Goldson and Byrd behind him....we'd never really need to change from our base defense.
Bucs definitely need a true cover safety and a pass rusher defensively. A CB that can play in the slot would be nice too.
