We still have a month to kill before the draft and wide receiver is a big time need for us, so I figured I would start a thread dedicated to this year's crop of WRs. Feel free to add info, highlights, and opinions on any receivers you like.Tier OneSammy-Watkins-2.JpgSammy Watkins is general considered to be the best WR in the draft and it's hard to argue. He is 6'1" 211lbs but he plays like a he is much bigger. He'll out physical bigger defenders and he'll out jump the taller DBs. He has great hands and body control and catches everything. He is a beast after the catch. His speed and explosiveness is elite. Big Time playmaker. Can line up anywhere and do anything that is asked of him. Are a few concerns about maturity but generally considered to be a good character guy. Might be a little over hyped, but I can't argue that he is the best WR prospect in this draft. He is expected to be a top 5 pick. He had down year in 2012 due to injury, but in 2011 and 2013 combine he had 183 receptions for 2683 yards and 24 TDs. Made a below average QB look great.  Combine Page - http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/sammy-watkins?id=2543457 10 Game Breakdowns - http://draftbreakdown.com/players/sammy-watkins/ Highlights - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Kjkh3yV8YA Evans.jpgMike Evans is the big man of the this WR class, although he isn't as big as some build him up to be. He is almost 6'6" but at 230lbs his physique looks a bit undefined for a WR and thin for such a big man. He has a frame, that if committed to the gym, appears to be more of a TE to me. Mike is also only 20 years old, which makes me think he will continue to fill out. It's very important that he becomes more dedicated to the gym and controlling his diet or he could easily outgrow the WR position. Mike is faster than many people think, but he is a long strider and his speed is long speed. He doesn't have great explosiveness and will struggle to get separation in the NFL. He is a better prospect than Benjiman because Evans has great natural hands and great body control, but like Benjamin he is raw, doesn't get separation, and will likely have limited effectiveness outside the redzone. In the red zone he will be nearly impossible to stop despite his lack of great acceleration, he will almost always demand double teams outside due to his size. Personally I think Evans projects as a TE and I would draft him in the 1st round as a TE. That is not the popular opinion though. He is considered a top 15 pick as a WR. He amassed 151 receptions for 2499 yards and 17 TDs in two years at Texas A&M. He just 20 years old, so he will likely fill out a bit more. He is very fast on the field and backed it up with a 4.33 forty time at the combine. He also broke records in the 20 and 60 yard shuttle which just goes to show his explosive quickness. He is a strong player too with a real nasty streak. Plays without fear. Reminds me very much of Steve Smith. Great hands, great body control, goes up and takes the ball from taller DBs, an absolute nightmare after the catch. He absolutely dominated last year with 128 reception, 1730 yards, and 18 TDs. Over 1100 yards the year prior. Cooks is considered a 1st round lock. He is freakishly athletic. The way he moves is just different than everyone else. He does certain things that look reminiscent of Barry Sanders or Deion Sanders. He is an elite kick/punt returner and you can just tell he is a special player with ridiculous potential. However, the other half of the great LSU duo, Jarvis Landry, is much slower and less dynamic of an athlete and yet Landry out performed Beckham as a WR. I think Beckham is an amazing talent and will be a top returner from day one in the NFL, but he is a bit raw as a WR and needs to perfect his craft like Landry has. If he can do that he will be amazing. Right now, I don't think he will be as productive a WR in the NFL as people think. Might take a year or two for him to really hit his stride. Look out when he does. He had 57 receptions for 1117 yards and 8 TDs last season. He also racked up 1500+ yards and 2 TDs as a returner while at LSU. Beckham is considered a 1st round pick. His forty time at the combine was surprisingly slow at 4.52, but it shouldn't matter because anyone who has watched him knows he is not slow. He is a track and field star as well as a lightning bolt on the football field. He does everything right from preparation to execution. He is a dangerous weapon before, during, and after the catch. Extremely bright and motivated. Has the swag of an NFL start receiver. The downside is his slight frame and his injuries. He has had several injuries during his college career and 2013 was plagued by one injury after another to his shoulder and legs. The injury concern is real and it adds a certain risk to him as a prospect, but he is a great player with very few holes in his game. Can line up anywhere and run any route tree. Had 118 catches for 1721 yards and 14 TDs in 2012. He is expected by most to be a 1st or 2nd round pick.
