It seems to me, that with Chris Godwin really stepping up and the Dine being non existent (32nd ranking), that seeing what the Bucs could get for two high priced, somewhat productive players that are, at a minimum, starting on the down hill side of their careers, would be worth looking into.
Huge salary dump, (Jackson $11 million & McCoy $12.5 million/$23.5 million total) you could sign some talent with those dollars. Possibly, get a 2nd or 3rd for each player, thus being able to fill some obvious holes. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can see that the Bucs need 2 DE's,2 CB's,2 Safeties,1 RG,1 RT,1 RB for starters. That's 8 immediate needs. Free agency hasn't been kind to the Bucs (sorry Jason) but Licht's drafts have given some solid results, therefore, I would offload as much $$$$'s and age as possible, get as many picks as you can, draft well for the mentioned positions of need, then back fill with some 24 to 26 year old free agents that can come in and contribute for depth.
The offense is a Top ten offense in yardage (can't put points on the board yet) but have some weapons to build on. If the Bucs could sustain a running game and rush the QB, things might look a little better next year.
Thoughts!!!!!!
