If you keep giving mega contracts to a few select players, how are you going to reward the other 48 players on the team?Evans is still on the team extension or not. So you think Evans being in a bad mood will cost the team five games? With Mike evans extension, 10-7 and playoff birth
without it, 5-12
it will set the tone for the season
sets the tone of the rest of the roster. If they won’t reward a HOF like Evans, what chance do the other 52 have?
Evans will want to get his 1,000 regardless
plus, he’s on the team but for how long? Does he get moved at the deadline ?
Along with Evans, the Bucs need to resign David, Vea, Wirfs.
I think David is done after this season. Did you mean Devin White? also they'll have to pay a QB as well as Winfield. Time for Evans to be rewarded by trading him to a contender to finish off his HoF career.
Even if we stay healthy I see 6-11 as the absolute ceiling. The offensive line is going to get abused, Baker Mayfield will get exposed under pressure, and the running game isn't going to be good enough to make up for it.
The defense will be good enough to keep us in games but not good enough to win them outright and they'll still get carved up by top tier offenses. Depth is paper thin across the board, the schedule is brutal, and our NFC South opponents all got a lot better while we have gotten worse.
If we incur 2-4 major injuries I can see us finishing anywhere from 2-15 to 4-13.
I think many are optimistic based on what happened with Geno Smith and Seattle and are transferring that success to Canales and Mayfield. Time will tell.
More like this team is a .500 ball club without Brady. Brady elevated the team and there is no denying it but at the end of the day losing Brady doesn't mean the team goes back to the bottom. That is what the national media pundits are missing with their lazy takes.

in the 3 seasons leading up to Brady, they had a .354 winning percentage which would equate to a 6-11 record.
That’s the team we are without good coaching, GOAT, gronk, etc.
the only X factor will be that mayfield plays deserving of #1 overall pick which could get us to 9-8
With the division and dissension on this team which will grow worse as they lose game after game, they might make it to 3-14, maybe not. The preseason hype will dissolve after the first half of Sunday’s game. The Vikings will crush the right side of the O-line getting multiple sacks. The run game will get nowhere. All in all We Tampa Bay fans will see the hot mess this team is.
The experts claim that the NFCS is all better than the Bucs but I am not seeing it. The Falcons defensively have a lot of young talent on the backend but are relying on older vets in the front seven which is very risky. On offense they have a lot of good to potentially great weapons but that OL isn't that good and Ridder is going to have to make some big time throws to justify them being hyped so much. There is only so much Arthur Smith can do to shield Ridder from having to make some throws to move the chains with creative play calling + running game.
Panthers offense also has weapons but a rookie QB with a small stature like Mayfield behind an OL that might be worse than the Bucs isn't something to hang your hat on. Defensively they have young talent all over the defense but they have yet to put it together. Fortunately for them they have Evero who is the best in the business. So the hype for the Panthers on defense is real but Reich can do only so much with what they have along their OL.
The Saints are the hot pick to win the division. They brought in Carr but Carr doesn't really like to push the ball downfield. So that limits the potential of Olave and they lost a lot of their WR depth. They are hoping that with Carr being very efficient in the short to intermediate game that a resurgent Graham and Thomas can keep the chains moving. They have big backs on their squad so they are going to pound the rock with the best OL in the NFCS until Kamara returns. But the defense is where they might encounter issues because they have a lot of new faces in their front seven. And the backend the safety duo of Maye and Matheiu are overrated.

Hunter against Goedeke is a mismatch and there is no denying it. The problem is the Vikes have a WORSE OL than the Bucs on paper and Vea, Shaq and the rest will have an easier time bottling up a running game without an electric Cook while Cousins doesn't thrive under pressure. Mattison has potential to be a good back but he is facing an uphill climb against the Bucs front seven in game 1. On defense the Vikings will use heavy bear fronts to slow down the Bucs as that is what Flores will try do. The problem is that Flores doesn't have experienced CBs on the boundary to do that when you have Godwin and Evans lining up on the outside.
That is why they play the games so we will find out this coming Sunday and the many weeks ahead of a long NFL season.
"when healthy" "if healthy"......when has that happened in most seasons? Already starting off without Kancey, Jensen....I imagine Barrett isn't 100%. Get ready for some disappointment (again).
alldaway
Saints have the best QB and best Defense in the division so if i was a betting man, would have to put my money there.
i dont think it's a foregone conclusion like say the NFC south predictions in 2021 and 2022 where Bucs were favorites and as expected took the division (albeit 2022 sucked)
we will know within the first 3 weeks what this team is. 2-1 and hey that 9-8 is in reach
1-2, or 0-3 and we are in for what the pundits expect
