It would seem to make sense that he evolve himself some way to win in the playoffs.

Maybe but I dont think the last game sit or play has anything to do with it. Most fans want people to sit to avoid injury.  The second issue might be to rest, but if you just use the Commanders playoff loss as an example we do NOT lose that game because people are tiredd or injured because of that last game.  We lose that game because of a slow offensive start and then an offensive choke at the end, mostly on the offensive ROOKIES.

I am not trying to pin that loss on one player, but if you go back and watch the game so much of what goes wrong on the offensive involves McMillan. He drops a sure first down early, he's in on the fumble etc.  Irving makes an uncharacteristic penalty.  Barton blows up.  Key rookies messing up. Compare that to LVD playing lights out at 35 or whatever. The moment caught up with some of our key players.

no break helps with that

I don' recall when Wirfs hurts his knee, but he might be an example of your point.  I only say that because just rewatching the playoff game he struggles on several key plays. Very much not like him, so his knee is probably playing a part.

Well the issue I have has to do with Evans and how he is used throughout the season.  Will anybody have the cajones to limit his playing time which could possibly cost him the 1000 yard record?  If Mike wants to play, who's going to tell him he can't go in the game?  What's more important, Evans continuing his streak or winning a playoff game or more?  I think some people in Bucland whether it's fans or even people with the team are emotionally invested in this streak and want to get him his 1000 and then we'll worry about the playoffs. Evans is a strong personality and it's tough to say no to him.  Who's going to do that?  Young Grizzy?

Evans is not a young pup.  His snap count was high 70% to 80% much of last year when he was healthy.   He had 710 snaps for 1000 yards.  I'd like to see him more like 60% and let Egbuka and JMac have some playing time.  Those guys are no joke. They will be weapons for this team.  If Evans has about 40 snaps a game, which would be about 60%, that would get him 680 snaps for the season if he played every game. That's probably not going to add up to 1000 yards.  But who is going to tell Evans he can only play 60% of the snaps?

no one

they ran a play for him last season when they should be kneeling or running, so pretty sure he's not getting benched this year . . could be wrong

One thing I am confident in saying is that if he get injured . . it will be Bowles fault on the Red Board, like last year lol

The reality is there is enough talent in the receiver room that they can spell Evans to be more effective in games. Which could wind up giving him chances against a tired opposing secondary.

Worrying about whether we should be focused on Evans getting another 1k, or focused on getting a win…are off-season debates. It won’t be a problem.

It won't be a problem?  Lets go back to October of 2024....

Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans scored his 100th career receiving touchdown in the first quarter. He departed for the locker room in the second quarter.

Evans entered with a hamstring injury, missing two practices before returning to limited work in the Saturday session. He was open in the end zone for what would have been a 24-yard touchdown but dropped the ball when defensive back Brandon Stephens wrapped up his ankles.

Evans writhed in pain as Baker Mayfield signaled for the team’s medical staff.

Remember that?

Agreed. It will all work out.  None of this is a problem. Same posters assailing Bowles for not sitting Evans applauded him running a pass play to break the record

I'm just asking questions.  If the Bucs feel the need to have load management on Evans snap count for the long term benefit of the team, will Bowles be able to tell him he can't go in the game?  Will anybody manage his workload?  In the past he's played when he felt he could play.  But that didn't work out so well last year and he'll be 32 this year and we need him for the playoffs. IMO he should have a lower snap count, but do the Bucs have any control over when Evans plays or does Evans call all the shots in terms of his playing time?  I don't know the answer.  I'm not saying what the Bucs want to do or can do.  I'm certainly not as certain as White Tiger that it's all tied up neat in a bow.

It's a fair question you're asking.

I can't speak for WT but for my own part I think even though you could say the team and Evans have potentially divergent interests this is where culture comes in. I trust Bowles and Evans to work it all out.

that does not mean it's an unfair question. In fact Evans alluded to your pint by saying he wanted to get his yards early

I think you already know the answer. You eluded to it in your last post.

Evans went into the Ravens game with a notable injury. He played.

After his TD catch, he clearly reaggravated it. Limping off to the sideline. He let him back in.

Think back to the Giants game, when Baker suffered a stinger late in the game. One that we had already locked up and won. He let him back in.

As I said, you already have your answer.

It's a players team.  Licht finds players who are leaders and they lead.  Guys like Evans and Mayfield and a few others.  Their leadership is what keeps this team on the rails as much or more than Bowles leadership.  But these guys are super competitive and want to be out there on the field. Their perspective is to focus on one game at a time.  That's how they're taught.  You alluded to some noteworthy incidences.  With the Godwin injury as well, did Bowles put Godwin in the game, or did Godwin put Godwin in the game?

I don't want to pretend what goes on on the sidelines or behind the scenes at One Buc.  I just want to see the Bucs have a good run in the playoffs.  We need our stars to be healthy.  You can't treat the whole season as a prelude to the post season.  That's a good way to end up with a high draft pick.  But when it comes to a guy long in the tooth like Evans somebody has to be in charge.

I say it won’t be a problem, because the  GM, coach, and team, showed how important it was to get Mike Evans his 1k last season.

We also saw that it was after achieving the teams goal of winning the game against NOLA, the entire organization put on a full court press to get Mike his 1k.

They even tried to get it done during the final drive, but when things broke down, the goal was to score, first.

The receiver room was built to provide more options, and to give Evans & Godwin an opportunity to be more available during an entire season, while planning for the future.

Thats what I mean that it won’t be a problem. I think this organization has their priorities straight, they already proved it.

Our fantastic WR duo are aging, we now potentially have legitimate, viable, options to prepare for injury periods to our aging super vets.

There is a succession plan for injury, and for the future. Not every plan works out the way you envision it, but having plan is better than taking a risk.

I trust the plan.
