HUGE coaching spot opens in Buffalo with the firing of McDermott.
We just continue to fall down the list.
Yeah, this one concerns me. Imagine Josh Allen in an offense that actually has a plan. I can’t visualize McDaniel up there? (Seems like a warm weather guy), but yeah, it will be tempting for any coach/OC to grab that spot. Similar to Baltimore.
Bucs need to make a decision soon. Hard to scout offensive players without an OC for the Senior Bowl.
I don't think the Buffalo move means much with McDaniels. Really doesn't strike me as a cold weather guy and I could never see the Bills hiring him.
Here's what we know for sure. @scottreynolds - there was no planet where we were going to fire Bowles after the 2024 season and replace him with Coen. There's next to no precedent for it. Feels like the right move in hindsight, but that's not how the NFL or any organization works. Debate your mom!
Danny Smith (Steelers) is ST Coach.
Bowles goes experience. Smith strong track record

Doing things because that's how they've always been done so how you become a three ring binder company.
that's how they've always been done
I dont think the Bucs kept Bowles out of tradition lol, they did it with Lovie/Koetter, but at least youre acknowledging that people who say the Glazers suck because they didnt fire Bowles/Hire Coen are talking about something most would reasonably see as very unlikely at the time.

I had a talk with my Mom. She agrees there is no way in hell the Glazers would have dumped Bowles to make Coen HC. But, she did go on to say that the Glazers were boneheads to extend Bowles prematurely, and they were even worse boneheads for not firing Bowles after that debacle finish to the 2025 regular season. She ended by saying there's no debate...about either issue.
The premature extension was to reward Licht and Bowles navigating a cap crunch. Not a mystery. The problem is that the Bucs are no longer in a cap crunch so are they going to allow Bowles and Licht to spend real money on OUTSIDE free agents.
People can say the Bucs have spent money on their own free agents but what about outside free agents to draw them to Tampa? That will be a litmus test to determine what Bowles and Licht have in terms of cap freedom.
Remember Bruce Allen and Gruden were not fired for the collapse immediately after the season ended. In fact it was a late firing and it was because Allen and Gruden were looking to spend big money on older free agents when the team was no where near super bowl caliber at the time.
Given the number of coaches and contracts signed, wouldn't owners include contingency clauses to allow for an exit, while paying a reduced amount?

No it's a DEI retainment. A bunch of racist cucks told me so...
Looking more and more like it'll be Robinson at OC.

Yep, plan B. Let’s hope Robinson is at least half as good as Coen turned out to be…all of that is based on if Robinson turns out to be candidate. Been hearing a lot about Pitcher, another candidate that has never called plays.Looking more and more like it'll be Robinson at OC.
