Bowles still wants to be his own DC despite his own incompetence as HC and DC. Why would he allow McDermott to be anywhere near his defense? That would be a clear threat to his control and leadership. I'm still frosted that the Bucs boneheaded owners didn't fire Bowles after his and the team's miserable failure during the 2nd half of the 2025 season (2-7, really???). FireBowles2026.

LOL One reason the report (from a pretty credible reporter) is interesting is precisely because its difficult to process for the "Bowles=Bad" group. Fire says "staff" for a HC means not coordinator? You say "why" because Bowles would be threatened. . .
I think its an odd report because their defenses are different, but when you connect the dots to Licht couldnt it be that Licht approached him about the heir-apparent role? And then what could that mean for 2027 . . .. another DEFENSIVE HEAD COACH?
