NFL: 5 teams that should consider drafting Anthony Chickillo by D'Joumbarey A. Moreau    1h ago Chic_Zps976C2A1C.jpgOne interesting prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft is Anthony Chickillo. Here are five teams who should draft him. Anthony Chickillo’s time at the University of Miami was a bit of a letdown. Even though Chickillo was one of the leaders on the team, and one of the hardest workers on the roster, the production on the field didn’t match the talent that he possesses.  Chickillo was one of the most highly sought after recruits back in 2010 and, because of his decision to play at the University of Miami, he became the Miami’s first third-generation football player. Previously, Anthony’s father, Tony, and his grandfather, the late Nick Chickillo, also played football for the Hurricanes program. Now that Chickillo’s time playing for the Hurricanes is done, he’s moving on into the next phase of his life, becoming a professional football player. This year there are a number of teams that could use the services of the 6’4 282 pound defensive lineman. Here are five teams who should draft Anthony Chickillo.Chic1_Zpsb996494C.jpgTampa Bay Buccaneers The team that should put a lot of stock into building their fan base is none other than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Anthony Chickillo is a native of Tampa, Florida, and bringing him back to his native land would do the Buccaneers wonders for their team. Back in high school, Chickillo was a former four-star Under Armour All-American defensive end at Braulio Alonso High School, before his time at Miami. Bringing Chickillo to the Buccaneers would give the franchise a young and talented defensive end. Playing along with other great pass rushers such as Gerald McCoy, and Adrian Clayborn, could do wonders for a young rookie’s career. Last season the Buccaneers finished with a 2-14 record, including getting two surprising victories against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins, and next season if they draft Chickillo, then the Buccaneers will improve and win more games.Chic2_Zpsd50F401F.jpgChicago Bears The Chicago Bears are known as the monsters of the midway because of their tenacious attitude when it comes to the defensive side of the football. Throughout the course of history the Bears traditionally are known for their great linebackers, and their massive defensive lines. Bringing in a player of Chickillo’s 6-foot-4 282-pound size would be a perfect combination for a team who enjoys having monsters on the field. One of the strongest parts in Chickillo’s game is that he uses his strength to his advantage. Most of the time when the ball is snapped Chickillo does well when it comes to generating leverage at the point of attack. Putting Chickillo on a team with great defensive players such as Stephen Paea, and Jared Allen, could help turn him into a stud sooner, rather than later. Last season the Bears weren’t particularly good at stopping the run. In fact they allowed opponents to rush for 112.7 yards per game, which was good enough for No. 17 in the NFL. Simply put, they need to improve.Buff_Zps03Ec44A8.PngBuffalo Bills The Buffalo Bills made one of the best moves this offseason when they managed to get a defensive minded head coach in Rex Ryan to help assume the leadership role on their team. Coach Ryan’s philosophy is to stop the run, not get burned by big plays, and to control the clock on offense. One of the players who could help the Bills become an even stronger defensive team is Anthony Chickillo. Putting Chickillo in a defensive system with one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL could prove as a very valuable commodity when it comes to stopping opponents. For a team who last season was 11th in the league in opponents rushing yards, bringing in another run stuffer could help them become a top five defense. The Bills still have to play against good quarterbacks in the division, including arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game of football, Tom Brady. The defense will have to improve if they want to finally shut him down.Chic3_Zps41057B82.JpgArizona Cardinals Even the best players on the field at some point get tired. The Arizona Cardinals have a lot of great players within their starting rotation including Calais Campbell, Frostee Rucker and Alex Okafor. However for as good as they are, the Cardinals need a stronger second unit if they want to completely solidify their defense. Last season the Cardinals rode the coattails of their defense all the way to the playoffs and it almost paid off during the playoffs. Against the Carolina Panthers, the Cardinals almost pulled off the upset victory and the defense can get credited for that. However, for as good as the Cardinals defense was though, on paper they were only 13th when it came to opponents rushing yards per game, allowing 108.7 yards a game. Bringing in a players such as Anthony Chickillo to help sure up the defensive unit, and help the second string isn’t a bad idea. As a rookie he’s going to impress, and picking him up late in the 2015 NFL Draft could turn out to become a steal.Chic4_Zps349Ea835.JpgCarolina Panthers According to multiple sources, the Carolina Panthers are not expected to bring back their Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy back after he was held out of 15 games while he was on the Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission List. Because of the domestic violence arrest that lingered over Hardy’s head last season, it might have been the final straw with the Panthers. Due to the fact that Hardy might not be a member of the Panthers franchise anymore they need to start looking inside of the 2015 NFL Draft to get players to fill his absence. One of the players that could step in and help is Anthony Chickillo. Last season the Panthers were 16th overall when it came to stopping the run. They allowed their opponents to rush for 112 yards per game. Thankfully one of the better parts of Chickillo’s game is that he’s good when it comes to playing the run. Because Chickillo normally plays square to the line, he’s able to maintain his balance and hold his ground against powerful players in the trenches.link
