Quarterback rating has become a meaningless metric. Like measuring "Total Offense and Defense" in yards, its nonsense.
Kirk Cousins per QB Rating was a better QB than Steve Young. Obviously that's nonsense.
But 538 has an interesting article correcting QB Rating for inflation. It doesn't fix QB Rating (which can't be fixed) but it's interesting how it does fix some of the ridiculous grade differences.
