For all the talk about Mayfield and Evans, what happens to the defense if LVD retires? Talk about a player whose impact extends far beyond his game stats. If yu consider he was recently playing along side aLB with very poor discipline and instincts (and effort), LVD's play is all the more amazing. This was Christian MCCaffery
“He’s a stud, man! He is definitely somebody you always have to circle whenever you are playing against him. He’s smart. He’s physical. He tackles well. And he knows where to be.”
That last part is key. he is a big part of our run defense AND he was often able to cover much younger and bigger TEs, in part because of his smarts.
Does he retire?
if so, how do we replace him?
Damn you for this Thread Title!
Why put that evil out there?!
man....yeah we'd be screwed.
would think ILB would jump to a high need in the first or second round this year. It's a need anyway combined with interior offensive line and edge.
the hope is that David comes back for one more to buy us some time.

I hope he comes back too, but you hit on the part i was wondering about which is how do we handle IF he retires?
It would be best for fans to just take a vacation until the free agent signing period starts. There may very well be a framework in place for a contract for David or any of the other free agents. Teams are allowed to negotiate with their own players, and until the league year starts David, Evans, Mayfield and Winfield are all still Buccaneers. They may very well have contracts worked out already. They just can't finalize it. "No prospective unrestricted free agent is permitted to execute a contract with a new club until 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 13." That doesn't mean they can't get it worked out.
So there's probably a lot already done behind the scenes. We just don't know about it. There's no point in worrying about signing our free agents until the league year starts and we can see who is really testing the waters and who isn't. If David was going to retire, he'd have already sent out some signals to that effect. He's still an effective player. Why would he retire? So David is the least of our worries IMO.
When the league year starts it's time to start worrying about whether the Bucs are going to resign players X,Y and Z. Until then - take a break.
This advice to take a break applies to myself as well. Of course I am finding myself wondering what's going on, but it's a no-win situation because we're probably not going to find out. That is unless PR gets off their ass and starts snooping around One-Buc and gets us some good dirt. Not holding my breath. So there's probably a lot already done behind the scenes.
Definitely
Fak no. And Miss whats "fin'na" go down over the next three years. This is gonna be FUN as hell. Im sure he wants a chance to Flex his "aaggee, lulz" at his Doubters. Dude is still as fast as griese lighting and can catch all of Mickeys chickens and return them plucked and ready to eat. Yeah, lets bring this back up in 2 years or so...maybe even 3. I don't doubt his ability, only his "want to, NOW-Today." Maybe he's "burnt out" like 99% of America, even still, cmon man...he's not that OLD he's just old in the same way ME is old, or Ballerz is Short...just another challenge on a boring Thurdsday.
Anyone else SORE AF today. I think I pulled my left lat muscle, right near the the inward curvature marking my spine. HOW IN THE HELL did I pull THAT one at my age??? Hurts when I breathe. My wife is sore too, she had to call out of work because she couldn't walk this morning. Its ok, I know someone who gave her a "doctors note." When I use to do crossfit, the best cure for SORE Quads and Thighs was Moah Squats. Maybe the cure for my back and my wife "impaired gait" is Moah. Moah of sumthing... Anyone know what that could Be????
Ur welcome 🤣 😱 🤫
What I'm still trying to wrap my head around are the fans on Twitter (and one here, even recently), still trying to figure out if "we have the cap space to re-sign Devin White".
Blows my mind that there is still a single fan duped by this clown. Smh.
That being said, regardless of LVD's decision, I've been pushing LB up to the 2nd and 3rd round of my mocks.
Give me Wilson or Trotter Jr.

Bro it’s embarrassing. Most of these talking heads don’t do “their homework” they “tune-in” to the mainstream narrative subconsciously, adopt that as “truth” and then regurgitate it from their pie hole. Before they offer an “opinion” study the source material for youself…but they lazy. We know the real ones, the ones that do their homework.
on this, we are in complete agreement. I do think White had some injury issues, but his lack of production is pretty glaring, and he goes way too invisible for long stretches. What I'm still trying to wrap my head around are the fans on Twitter (and one here, even recently), still trying to figure out if "we have the cap space to re-sign Devin White".

I wouldn’t even want the Bucs to tag him.
"My gut feeling at the end of the season was that they would all be back,” Barber told Jay Recher and Zac Blobner. “At least that’s the feeling that I have, that Mike would be back with Baker as his quarterback and Lavonte, he’s still got it. We saw him at the end of last year, he still looks early 30s. He doesn’t look like a guy that’s been in the league for 13 years. If he’s going to play, I would imagine they’d give him a one-year deal.
“I did that at the end of my career, I signed three one-year deals at the end of my career so I could just keep playing here and then finally the wheels fell off and I was done. I would imagine that’s kind of where Lavonte is headed, but he’s had a fantastic career whatever he decides, it is what it is. I don’t see him playing anywhere but (here).”
With the recent release of Allen in LA, I'm wondering if the Bucs take a long look at him as Hainsey's replacement.
Ultimately, freeing up our 2nd rounder for a LB like Trotter, Wilson, or Colson.
Although his problem is staying healthy, he’d be a great addition to the run game, and an upgrade.
