Tough loss BUT the Bucs are still in it AND . . . (I am sure you gamblers knew this, right? ) . .when was the last time the Bucs won 5 in a row?
NEVER in the Brady years? (maybe a handful of times in their entire history?)
AND . . ..
Didn't the Super Bowl Bucs suffer a terrible loss at home to the Saints? WITH THE GOAT at the helm?
Wait, TWICE? Once in 2020 and once in 2021?
Yesterday was a MUST WIN for the Saints, not for the Bucs . . . and it showed . . across the board.
Beat the Panthers and they are in. Lose to the Panthers and they STILL outperform expectations AND
all you Trask fans don't care about the playoffs anyway . . right?
:-)
Good perspective
I hope you are right. The difference with the Brady years is we had Bruce Arians at the helm!
todd Bowles gives me less confidence
the problem is this team is closer to the .500 squad that can win or lose against a group of cheerleaders then they are the team that was 2-0 dominating packers and jaguars
that being said, I like the positive vibes and let’s beat the panthers!

This...is a dumb post. First, we won 8 straight in 2020. Kind of won something called Super Bowl LV. Remember? Second, Trask fans don't want to miss the playoffs. That would be the tank for Caleb people. Many of us felt we'd play at least as well with Trask, but believe there may be more upside to him, including the ability to actually make more reads in the progression than Baker seems capable of. We'll never know, though, unless Trask gets a chance. But that doesn't mean we want to lose the playoffs. I'm just as pissed as anyone that we lost yesterday. Even though I think we'll be killed in the first round, I'd rather be in it with a chance to get hot and make something happen than not. And I don't care if Baker is the starter or not beyond the fact I don't think he gives us a great chance when there.
Maybe one day you'll realize there's a difference between loyalty to the team and loyalty to a player the team has brought in. I'm more concerned with the long term health of the franchise. I could give two shits whose QB'ing it as long as we are regularly winning and the QB is regularly leading us to those wins. If we can do better, replace the guy. Same with any position on the team.
Second, Trask fans don't want to miss the playoffs.
uhhh. . . .
One Trask supporter (falsely) claimed that the playoffs being meaningless was CONSISTENTLY his reason for wanting to bench Mayfield
C'mon man . . .
This [post that says there were multiple reasons the Bucs lost . . one being physicality]...is a dumb post.
"“They did a good job beating us up front at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” Bowles said.
Added Mayfield, “I think there’s many reasons [for losing]. But, starting with physicality like I just mentioned. … Like I said, they were more physical today and they threw us off our tempo.”
weird
Trask would've made both our lines more physical?
Good perspective

I agree with those KEY differences, especially watching Bowles defense struggle and watching both lines basically fall flat against any very physical competition
The Bucs could EASILY lose the Panthers game BUT all is not lost YET
First, one "Trask supporter" saying the playoffs being meaningless likely meant they felt the team as a whole, regardless of who was at QB, was not capable of winning in the playoffs this year. I don't think we likely are going to win either, but you never know until you play the games. Doesn't mean they didn't want to be in the playoffs.
Second, I don't know why you keep trying to extrapolate crap like you do. Would Trask make our lines more physical? Does it matter? Baker had time to hold the ball on almost every pass play. Yeah, he got pressured several times and took a couple of sacks after holding the ball for way too long. What does that have to do with you point? Trask doesn't have a history of holding the ball too long (though all QB's will occasionally do so). He does, however, have a history of rapidly progressing through reads and letting the ball go in anticipation, something Baker is very hit or miss on. Would Trask have made a difference yesterday? Don't know. Hard to be worse than the first 3 quarters of action out of Baker.
Can't we just put the trask people on a secluded island with the biden voters and the g__ people??
*gun people (wink)
You seem to be advocating genocide for Biden voters there.
Can we just realize that some of us have a different opinion of the skill sets of the two QB's on this team? One we've seen through 16 games. The other, we haven't gotten a sniff of. So all you have is conjecture, while I have 16 games and several years of proof.
No, you're wrong.
Give them all plenty of food to keep them happy.

no because that’s a foolish opinion.
baker > trask
trask is more likely to be out of this league after his Bucs contract than he is to be starting any games in this league as a back up QB (ie minshew, brisset, type)
Now if we had cousins or Wilson on the team, then talk to me. If we had Trey lance or Justin fields on the bench. Let’s see what they can do.
trask ain’t it. And with your main point being “we haven’t see him play” is a lame reason. We haven’t seen Wolfred play either and he won a playoff game.
have the Texans and Vikings see Davis mills and Kellen mond play? Those were the guys picked right after trask. Garbage.
use common sense please
You still only have conjecture.
But what are the odds?
how do i explain this to you. let me try.
There's two people. One guy, doesn't buy a lottery ticket. He thinks, there isn't any chance i am going to win. Another guy, buys a lottery ticket.
So guy 1 - his chances of winning the lottery is ZERO. Why? He didn't buy a ticket. But what does he do instead? He invest, saves money, etc. Is guy 1 going to retire this year? No. But maybe he is waiting for the right opportunity and one of his investments takes off and he is retired by the age of 50. Wow. pretty good. He could have potentially retired this year (or win Superbowl in football terms) if only he won the lottery but his odds were one in 300 million.
Guy 2 - he buys a lottery ticket every day. His chances of winning the lottery? Again, one in 300 million. Not likely. He doesnt invest, save money, as he gambles, goes to casinos and does everything to get rich quick. Instead, he can only retire at the age of 67. Looks like the risk didnt pay off.
so in these scenarios guy 1 is ok with mid tier Baker who has the mid level poorly coached Bucs at 8-8 with a win and in playoff scenario. In a year where the Bucs had 75 million of dead cap space and werent suppose to achieve more than 6 wins.
guy 2 would be rolling with Kyle Trask. Yes - we are only living in hypotheticals since Trask wasn't good enough in practice the last 3 years to earn playing time and in that situation the Bucs likely a 3-5 win team at best.
dont know how to better explain it when you factor in Davis Mills/Kellen Monds references.

Let me start by saying that I love Bakers energy, and moxie. He has definitely outplayed his contract. What I do not like about Baker is his propensity to have passes batted at the line, holds the ball too long, and doesn't see receivers that are running open in the middle of the field. Do I think Trask would have done better yesterday ? I have no idea, but as was mentioned previously Baker had plenty of time to double clutch and hold the ball yesterday, not to mention running directly into at least 1 sack. What i do believe is that Trask is able to see over his line to be able to spot receivers running open in the middle of the field, as well as have a launch point that would likely prevent as many batted balls. I've mentioned previously that I think this offseason has many variables. Will Bowles be kept as coach? If he is I think Baker is resigned and other aspects of the team are focused on in the draft and Free Agency. If he's not I'd like to see an offensive mind come in to take over. if it's Monken, I could see him taking a QB early then building the OL, if it's Brian Johnson ( Trask' college coordinator ) I could see it go either way. Keep and play Trask, or draft a QB and play Trask as a bridge QB who may or may not ball out ( at least our fanbase would know what he was ). Regardless Evans needs to be kept in place to help whomever the QB is next year with another Elite weapon.
You still only have conjecture.
so do you and everyone else, its a message board.
BUT that doesn't mean there are no facts to form an opinion. Your facts seem to be reporting form pre-season and your experience in college. I hope youre right. As I keep posting, best thing for the Buc s would be to have drafted Trask as the next Brady.
