I personally think Donald at 7 is a better pick than Watkins at 7
I think they would both have a great and immediate effect.
If the Bears don't resign Melton, they'll be a prime candidate to take Donald at 14. I wouldn't encourage trading down too far if Donald is still a target.
I'm Noping the hell out of this thread, no thanks to Donald at 7.
I'll gladly stand alone on this.
theres no value there at all
C'mon Dex. You aren't usually the type for over exaggeration and hyperbole. I'm not saying take him at #7....but you know your statement isn't true. Ideally I wanna see us trade back a few spots.....then try to trade back again a few spots. Get Donald and gain some additional picks. I know you can't predict that type of thing because it takes two to tango, but ideally that is what I would like to see happen.
there was no hperbole here. im specifically talking about taking him at 7. thats why i said if we traded a ways back then there becomes value. at 7 its a bad pick

you're not alone on this. If Bridgewater, Manziel, Clowney, and Robinson are all gone i'm all for it!

Bears will be looking at Jernigan and Donald. Cowboys will do the same

Indeed, but do you see a Dline guy in the second round that will have a great and immediate impact? I dont. but What about WR? I think there are easily receivers in the second that could have an immediate effect.IMO this is an honest question. Would you rather trade pick number 7 for Josh Gordon, or trade the 2nd round pick for Victor Cruz? I think thats comparable to drafting Watkins at 7 or Beckham in the second.

You wouldnt care for the most dominating DT since Suh at pick 7?

There are a few pass rushers that might be there in the 2nd round, but you are right. Much better chance of getting a WR outside of the 1st round that has an immediate impact.
DT Aaron Donald, PittNFL Comparison: Mike Daniels.Where He Wins: Excellent burst off the line to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Despite size knocks, he has good length and active hands. Able to get skinny to work through gaps and trash. Closing quickness is there to make tackles for loss.Where He Fits: Obvious nickel or dime rusher, but likely not limited to that. He disrupts fronts. Could see him lining up in a variety of sub-package sets at 1, 3, or 5 technique.Draft Projection: Top-40 due to measurement minimums, but he could go much, much higher. http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/cfb/46173/325/nfl-draft-norris-top-50?pg=2

I guess I just can't seem to paint that picture of him.

we can afford to wait a round or two before we look at receivers. this class is insanely deep. you can get guys like Donte Moncrief and Jarvis Landry in the 3rd round. im much more comfortable waiting for a receiver til later in the draft after seeing the combine.i feel the best move to is to trade down off the 7th overall pick

Another thing I keep thinking about is yea.. it would be cool to have a top 5 WR type of guy, but look at the league check out all the awesome WRs there are who arent a AJ green or Megatron, but would still be a real sick combo with Vjax. I mean the list is huge with teir 2 guys who would be a force for us. Small example would be Cruz, Antonio Brown, hell even Welker in his prime. Maybe Ill make a list but you already know what I mean. I dont think we need to use pick 7 on a guy we hope to be a top 10 WR or something.

We already have that guy on our team.
