Mack Barr and Clowney can be , and I rate all above a guy we'd have to play at NT.

Mack is the most interesting as he could be a probowler for us for a long time or he could just not work out as well in the 4-3. Clowney we cant get. and Barr is up for debate. I personally have always thought he will be a 3rd down pass rusher, and some think he's elite and the winner of that debate wont be determined for a couple of years probably.

. You also get insurance from being completely screwed if McCoy goes down.

i think this is a huge deal.  but i also think we can rush 2 DT at the same time.

this kills your entire argument for the last few pages imo. either donald can be a player for us or he cant.  youve been telling us that another DT was unnecessary.

It is unnecessary . A NT who can also rush the passer well in certain situations is a luxury not a need. An edge rusher is a NEED. You can't have a great pass rush without one. If we fill those needs in FA then maybe we can start looking at luxuries.

You can not name 7 players who are better then Aaron Donald in this draft.  lining him up next to McCoy for the next 7- 8 years would be incredile. While i do agree that i'd rather have an edge rusher, the only elite edge rusher there (Clowney) will be gone before we pick. Mack and Barr are linebackers, Donald would perform better at the DE spot then either of them in my opinion.

This guy gets paid for his opinion and actually played in the trenches of the NFL. http://t.co/sPCzDPVr30

I dont agree with that, but I do think he is the best DT since Suh. The guy is a top 10 player in this draft. Sorry to those who disagree but it is what it is and Donald wrecked Olines game after game. Its not about whether he's the BPA available or not, its about should we draft a DT over an OT like Robinson, and we probably shouldnt. but the point is Donald will be a legit option as a top 10 pick regardless of what the media mocks say.

He is a top 10 talent, he is not a top 10 pick because he lacks positional versatility. If you run a system he fits in he is a great player. If you don't, well he's not useful.  This notion that you just plug any guy into any place flies in the face of what good teams have shown over the years is that they get guys to play their system, see Patriots, not just pile up hily tprated guys like it is madden that is the Deadskins approach.

if a stud DE is our only need then im estatic.and saying certain situations isnt doing it justice.  passing situations.  thats over half the game.and who was the seahawks edge rusher?

LOL .Sure I can . Easy .... and it's all opinion but the majority of scouts agree with me and not you on that.

We will be in the under alignment in most passing situations to maximum the talents of our pro bowl 3 tech....that's what I mean by certain situations . Wouldn't be many where he is freed up to get after it .Seahawks have a few solid edge rushers.

so there arent any alignments to take advantage of 2 great first step penetrating DTs ?and the seahawks dont have any great edge rushers.  they just have plenty of strong rushers all over their line.

One of your DT's is getting doubled by the center regardless. Might was well decide which one - the less talented one.

See I don't get the bolded part. He played all over the d-line over the last three years. Back in 2011 he played at DE almost half the time and he had 11 sacks. He has played both ends and both DT spots. He was moved around in college to take advantage of the situation and get the best match up....so why is there this idea that that he isn't versatile? He's a DT/DE tweener at 285lbs that runs and moves like a linebacker. He is like the definition of versatile. I know you can go copy and paste some scouting reports that say he isn't versatile, but the facts don't back up that opinion.

I will back up that point to this degree. It really depends on who you are playing against. Not sure he can do it against everyone, but if you have watched the way the Giants have used their linemen the last five years, it's certainly possible to use him this way sometimes.
