How many times have you read that he would be a prototypical 3 tech DT if he was just 20lbs heavier and 3 inches taller? What do you call a guy that is considered a little too small to be a prototypical DT but a little too big to be a prototypical DE? I call it a tweener. Maybe you have a different word. If he wasn't a tweener, he would be a top 5 pick and this conversation wouldn't be taking place.

This guy gets paid for his opinion and actually played in the trenches of the NFL. http://t.co/sPCzDPVr30

I dont agree with that, but I do think he is the best DT since Suh. The guy is a top 10 player in this draft. Sorry to those who disagree but it is what it is and Donald wrecked Olines game after game. Its not about whether he's the BPA available or not, its about should we draft a DT over an OT like Robinson, and we probably shouldnt. but the point is Donald will be a legit option as a top 10 pick regardless of what the media mocks say.

He is a top 10 talent, he is not a top 10 pick because he lacks positional versatility. If you run a system he fits in he is a great player. If you don't, well he's not useful.  This notion that you just plug any guy into any place flies in the face of what good teams have shown over the years is that they get guys to play their system, see Patriots, not just pile up hily tprated guys like it is madden that is the Deadskins approach.

See I don't get the bolded part. He played all over the d-line over the last three years. Back in 2011 he played at DE almost half the time and he had 11 sacks. He has played both ends and both DT spots. He was moved around in college to take advantage of the situation and get the best match up....so why is there this idea that that he isn't versatile? He's a DT/DE tweener at 285lbs that runs and moves like a linebacker. He is like the definition of versatile. I know you can go copy and paste some scouting reports that say he isn't versatile, but the facts don't back up that opinion.

Plenty of guys have positional versatility in college.  That isn't NFL level positional versatility. Yeah, in college he could likely play linebacker and whip up on guys on college.

He is an absolute baller and I bet that he becomes one of the better DTs in the NFL in a few years. Too bad (not really) that the Bucs already have arguably the best 3tech in the league. There is NO spot for Donald on this team. Pass.

You do know that the schemes run by Schwartz and Smith are different right?

Donald is quick and all that but he has nowhere near the size/arm length to hold up as a 1 or 2i getting double teamed often. He would be a waste if he isn't drafted to play 3tech and that spot is taken in Tampa.

I see the same nonsensical excuses that have already been debunked. His arms are not short, they are 32 5/8" which is average for a DE, and his speed/quickness numbers match up to guys like Barr and Mack. The guys 10 yard and 40 yard times were identical to Johnny Manziel for gods sake. Give it a rest.
