LOL
Yea, he's gonna be REALLLLY good.
if you feel confident in this, then he should at the very least be in the BPA discussion imo.
Nah...he is an amazing pass rusher that everyone agrees will be great.....but it's UT or nothing. He couldn't possibly rush the passer from another spot. ::)

What is he going to play when its 1st and 10 or 2nd and 7? How about when its 3rd and 1?

either LE or DT? Let's not make this more difficult than it needs to be. I read on these boards all the time how it's all about pass rush and passing the ball. This guy is arguably the best pass rusher in the draft ... But it's impossible to rush 2 DTs on the same play?

He is certainly overrated. I mean he doesnt even control the Kraken. Hades does.

Seriously, why couldn't we use 2 DT's to rush the interior
That's played out yo

You guys are seriously cracking me up. Donald is THE prototypical 3 technique. Could he line up on a pass down somewhere on the line and go hunt? Of course. The major issue here (which some of you guys who don't really know much about the game) seem to have trouble realizing, is that he is an absolute WASTE as a 1 or 2i on a down to down basis. Both DT positions are not the same. If the Bucs spend a first round pick on him, they're essentially saying it is worth giving up all that for guy who will only have a noticeable impact when it is a clear passing down. That is just absurd. I bet that almost none of you could sit here and rattle off the NT of more than a couple 4-3 teams.
How is it you can't comprehend that he would be a top notch run stopper at LE on running downs? You talk like he would need to come off the field or something. Michael Bennett split his time about 60/40 between LDE and NT in 2012. He did the same exact thing in Seattle in 2013. Was actually closer to 50/50 there...but Donald can't move around like that? But it's us that don't really know much about the game? Sure. Also, Adrian Clayborn is 2 inches taller than Donald and the same weight. Adrian has the same body type and slightly shorter arms....but Donald had better production and better combine numbers....but he can't play DE because....because....uh...yeah. Kid can play anywhere on the line and dominate just like he played all over the line in college and dominated. Problem is some of you get so caught up with him being labeled UT that you can't just look at him as a pass rusher.
Ok, so they should draft someone to play a position that they have never played and in football terms is in "a completely different world"? Do you really feel that way because when I see Donald, I see a top 5 three tech within a few years but not anything close to an End.

You could make that case for only Aaron Donald and not for Khalil Mack or Anthony Barr? Prototypical pass rushers.Bias much?
He has great hands. Every hand movement is sudden and violent and has purpose. He has an elite get off and acceleration. He has a low center of gravity with elite strength. He uses chop, swim, and bull rush moves. He's a non stop motor and can chase down the ball carrier with the speed of a LB. But for some reason, some of you just refuse to acknowledge these things and continue to repeat this idea that he is purely a UT that can't play anywhere else. He is 285lbs, not 310lbs. He runs a freaking 4.68. That would make him 5th among TEs and 10th among LBs.His 3 cone drill time of 7.11, which shows the ability to lean and turn around that edge, was better than all the TEs. 10th among LBs. His 10 yard split, that shows short area burst, was 1.59.....that is comparable to DBs, WRs, RBs, and pass rushing LBs. Geno Adkins, Gerald McCoy, and Suh where no were near that. They all had 1.69 which is considered great for a DT. I may sound like a broken record, but I really don't think some of you realize how freaky his combine numbers were. There is literally no doubt that he has the speed and strength to play anywhere he wants on the line of a 4-3.

Oh for fucks sake dude. We have been over this ten times! He played both DE spots and both DT spots in college. Almost 50% of his snaps in 2011 were at DE and he had 11 sacks. Stop the madness. I suppose your next post will be about the short arms lie. :o

Everyone and their mom is making that argument for Mack and Barr. I don't need to. They can apparently go from LB to DE with no problem, but a 285lbs UT with LB speed can't. How many of those 3-4 LB tweener guys have successfully made the switch to 4-3 DE and been dominant anyways?
