The thing I noticed when watching and rewatching his college games, was that he played NT just as much as UT and when he took on double teams versus the run he stood his ground and was rarely ever pushed around. He may be short but he is super strong from top to bottom and his low center of gravity makes him nearly impossible to move. He is also great and shedding the block at the right moment and grabbing hold of the RB as he tries to slip by. I think people would be surprised to see how well he does at NT. I'm not saying he wouldn't play LDE too....but he could probably play NT full time. Also, I think with McCoy and Donald side by side we could shift the D-line often right before the snap, effectively turning Donald into the UT and McCoy the NT. With two guys that can play either position equally as well, this could be done often and cause confusion/mistakes by the opposing O-line. With two top 10 DTs there is no rule that says McCoy always has to play UT.
I would not want to line him up at NT full time because of the beating he would take. But I love the idea of having a rotation with GMAC at UT and also giving him reps at the other DL positions as well.
Not really making a point here. Just interesting to compare these two. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/adrian-clayborn?id=2495140 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/aaron-donald?id=2543485
I don't really think that's applicable. They are different types of players. It's like comparing Urlacher and Von Miller.

Good. Let him think that when we pick him at 7.
I hope he is there , because he's a play maker.

But ...but ...he's the greatest prospect ever !! Better than Suh at tackle ! Better than Dwight Freeney at End !! Able to split doubles at NT in a single bound !! So sayeth the Donaldosexual Red Board Shark Jumping Committee !!

Must be the same vet personnel guy that scouted Geno Atkins. An argument both for and against drafting undersized DTs.
Wait, A GIANTS FAN said that? And they are wanting Donald, by a large amount of prognosticators...Can you say, SMOKESCREEN!

Seems like it eh? I'll bet $10 the Giants take him at 12 if he is still there.
Good article on Donald. "Once you start seeing so much change in your life and what's coming from hard work, it's like you know the cheat code," Donald said. "You keep working, you keep pushing yourself. You can do some special stuff." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-aaron-donald-bears-nfl-draft-spt-0504-20140504,0,714465,full.story

"personnel guy" apparently doesn't know the history of undersized DT's in Tampa, Indianapolis, and Chicago.

What I think is funny is that everyone says he is shorter than the prototypical 3Tech......but Sapp, Randle, and Atkins are the prototype and they are all 6'1".
I want the Bucs to draft Donald.
TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports coach Lovie Smith's "wish" is for the Bucs to draft Pittsburgh DT Aaron Donald at No. 7 overall.Pauline reports the Bucs ownership is "pushing for" Johnny Manziel instead. In Tampa, Donald could play the three-tecnhique spot and push Gerald McCoy to nose tackle, giving the Bucs four players capable of getting to the quarterback on the defensive line. No. 5 to Oakland is about as high we could see Donald going with his floor being No. 8 to the Vikings or No. 13 to the Rams.Related: BuccaneersSource: DraftInsider.net May 7 - 3:26 PM
