When they are both inside they would be interchangeable, so I'm sure McCoy would line up as the NT at times.... But yes, the idea of making McCoy our full time NT is rather stupid.

Idk jdub I just don't see the value of a dt whose best position is a position that we have one of the best players in the league I might add. Especially when our offense is the 32nd in the league. Dumb imo, but to each his own I suppose.
He's gonna be a dominant 3 down pass rusher no matter where they put him. That is why I think it's good value.
We are going back to the DL rotation this year. McCoy will probably only see 70% of the plays. That gives him plenty of reps at UT and gives us a potentially dominant DL. Anytime you can go from below average to dominant I think you should do it. One more day. I am hoping the pick is Donald or Evans.

A good defense can really help a poor offense!Still, I'd prefer a offensive player, but Carolina showed last year the value of having two quick guys in the tackle position last year. And just because the Tampa 2 has always been a 3-tech and a nose, doesn't mean that some bright guy like Lovie couldn't redesign the defense around two stud defensive tackles both on the field at the same time. I'm sure that the reason that it's not designed that way is that it's hard enough to find one good 3-tech and almost impossible to find two. I bet if you asked Frazier, he'd be all over drafting Donald with the #7 pick. I'd love to see Clayborn, McCoy, Donald and Johnson unleashed. Really!

If this report is true, L&L obviously believe Donald can play anywhere on the line. They aren't going to draft a guy that can only play UT at #7 when we already have a great UT.
