I can't say who the best defensive rookie is, but knowing how the award is handed out, I've got to think Mosley is the most likely candidate because he plays on a good team and because he's currently #6 in tackles. It's really easy for voters to notice players who play for contending teams and who are at the tops of recognizable stats. Mack and Donald both play for bad teams and while they may get a lot of pressures, aren't near the top of the league in sacks. You have to really pay attention in order to know how good they've been.
I hear you FRG, but the Rams have had the best defense in the league over the last five weeks. They held the Broncos to 7 points and currently have a two shut out streak going. The Rams may be 6-7, but that defense is nice. If they finish strong, I think that defense will be the talk of the NFL...which would definitely help Donald's chances. It's a shame it even matters, but you are right. The team's popularity does have an effect.
Prefer defense to offense; Donald, McDonald, and McCoy would have been a hell of a rotation at DT.
As good as Evans has been I was pining hard for the Bucs to take Donald. I still think it was the better option for long term success for the Bucs.

Good call on Donald. I still like the Evans pick. But, no doubt that Donald is a beast.
Evans looked really good. He was much better as a rookie than I expected. Hopefully he stays out of trouble this off season and follows up with a great sophomore season....but I still wish we'd have drafted Donald. I doubt that will ever change. That guy is awesome.

If we needed a 3 tech, we would've taken him. No doubt in my mind. That said, looking forward to watching Evans the next few years.
These threads about someone being drafted instead of Evans are ridiculous. In every draft there are going to be multiple good players, you cannot draft all of them. A few teams will end up with good players no matter what. It is like you guys like to torture yourselves trying to find the best player we should have drafted without a doubt instead of the one we drafted.Should have taken Watkins, I mean Donald, I mean OBJ, I mean Carr.......we cannot draft everyone morons!!!Jeez!! We didn't need Donald, we needed a WR and got a good one.
