These threads about someone being drafted instead of Evans are ridiculous. In every draft there are going to be multiple good players, you cannot draft all of them. A few teams will end up with good players no matter what. It is like you guys like to torture yourselves trying to find the best player we should have drafted without a doubt instead of the one we drafted.Should have taken Watkins, I mean Donald, I mean OBJ, I mean Carr.......we cannot draft everyone morons!!!Jeez!! We didn't need Donald, we needed a WR and got a good one. It is one thing when your draft for a need and reach, blowing on a Donald, but when you draft for a need and end up with a guy like Evans.....be happy and STFU!

That's one way to look at it.  Another way to look at it is that games are won and lost in the trenches, we suck in the trenches,  and we passed on an excellent young lineman for a position many feel isn't worth a top 10 pick.  Its not like we're talking about hindsight here- Donald's bandwagon was pretty big before the draft.

Donalds talents would be wasted at nose guard. Hes a 3tech.  We made the right pick.

Evans looked really good. He was much better as a rookie than I expected. Hopefully he stays out of trouble this off season and follows up with a great sophomore season....but I still wish we'd have drafted Donald. I doubt that will ever change. That guy is awesome.

Evans was our best bet, but this what concerns me, he always jawing on the field and I'm fine with it but it makes me think he's kinda a hot head. I don't have any evidence besides the incident on his bday but that was really nothing. I'm a little concerned about his character as he always seems to be pouting when McCown makes a bad pass or doesn't get him the ball (but I do the same thing in my living room). Just hope he flys straight for his whole career and isn't one of those diva wideouts.

I tend to agree here.  Donald was one of four players I really wanted with that pick and first or second in terms of best over-all prospect to me.  However, the presence of MCCoy and the idea of playing him out of position gave me serious pause for using that pick on him.  At this point I see no reason to regret our choice.

Except it isn't true any more. Watch some games. Games are won by quarterbacks and whoever wins matchups between WRs and DBs. Rams have all these defensive linemen but are 24th in yards per play against, worse than us. Yea lets be like them.

Why should we get either of those stiffs, when Josh Freeman is still available?

I prefaced it all by saying I don't know what I want the Bucs to do yet. But if you draft a QB and put him in a dysfunctional organization with bad coaches surrounded by bad players, it's not going to work. You are all of the belief that drafting a QB means you have a QB

LOL.  Is this your way of blaming the Bucs for not properly developing Freeman and providing him him a positive environment?

"They filled the team with a bunch of hardcore drug users. Freeman didn't have a chance."

Yes. For you it's easier to just blame one guy who isn't here than to blame the franchise.

Yes.  I strongly believe in individual responsibility.  Any qb worth a damn got there because of their own work ethic.  Their own motivation, desire to be great and competitiveness. It's not a position where the guy with the most physical talent is necessarily the best.  In fact it rarely is.

I can't help but notice Aqib Talib isn't getting into trouble anymore now that he's not on the same team as Freeman. Looks like Freeman was the ringleader of the troublemakers.
