Alright, I guess there is something worth evaluating now that it appears that Koetter is being retained. Folks have been complaining mightily about Red Zone play-calling the last few weeks, so lets get under the hood and see what happened against the Falcons to start.

1ST & 10 AT ATL 18 |07:17
(7:17) P.Barber right guard to ATL 9 for 9 yards (D.Jones, R.Allen).

OFFENSE: Cross motion to in-line Left w/ Auclair in-line right (12 personnel), Barber Singleback, ME Tight Left, Godwin Tight Right.

Inside Zone Right.

DEFENSE: 4-3 Under w/ SS on the LoS over Cross. Both CBs outside leverage and tight. Single High Safety.

WHAT HAPPENED:

I think JW may have audibled on this play (or it was a fake); most likely switching the play-side of the run from left to right (if so).

This was blocked very well all around. Few players I want to point out:

1) Auclaire was playside and turned the SAM and dominated him out of the play. This kid is showing up consistently. He is getting better and better.

2) EDS (OG) and Benenoch both do a great job single teaming here. EDS controls the DT and Benenoch dominates the DE.

3) Hawley helps KP on the other DT, gets second level and pancakes the MLB violently.

4) Great job by Barber for being patient for just a moment then getting downhill and attacking the crease. Runs through contact for a few more yards.
