1. Bucs needed D. Smith, R. Smith and N. Spence to all have taken the next step this year for overall team success. They haven't for a variety of reasons. What are the Bucs top three needs heading into 2018? LT, CB, DE. Anyone surprised? What are the premium positions at the NFL level? QB, LT, CB, and DE. Bucs have 3 out of 4 major needs for premium positions that need to be addressed in the off season. Not surprising where the Bucs record is at.
2. How much better would this offense look with a true LT that has the feet to protect a QB in shotgun and five step drops Koetter prefers?
3. Bucs running game sure looks better without Martin or Stocker. Stick with the younger guys that are hungrier and more talented IMO.
4. While an NFL average LT would transform the Bucs offense, the defense needs more help. The defense adding a DE isn't going to be enough. Two DE's, a young DT, and a CB are all needed to turn around the defense.
5. Speaking about the defense, the lack of talent on defense has been a problem since Gruden was fired. The final season of Gruden's tenure the Bucs were an overachieving team on offense and defense. Monte leaving exposed the Bucs under talented squad yes. But the Bucs have had problems building the defense up since Gruden's departure along with Monte.
6. Which player has progressed the most since the 2015 draft? With all of Licht's failures he has to point to that as his lone defense for his work.
7. Bucs dipping into free agency is actually refreshing the last few years. But the Bucs seem to focus too much on splash and not what is needed.
8. Koetter as a 2nd year HC is still learning and he makes a lot of painful mistakes. But maybe giving up OC duties would help?
9. Even with pass rushers, M. Smith wants to run a prevent style of defense which is futile for the 2017 NFL game. It doesn't work with today's NFL rules and you don't have a HOF like Sapp, Brooks, Barber, Rice, and Lynch to pull of the bend but don't break idea.
10. Bucs need to put an emphasis on drafting for value again in the NFL draft.
