Kafka looks to be an upgrade over Orlovsky as our b/u; the signing has nothing at all to do with Glennon. Glennon has a far better arm than either. Supposedly the only reason Schiano kept Orlavsky was to help Freeman in the classroom...

How is Kafka better than Orvy?
If I were Glennon I wouldn't be worried about Kafka. He has yet to prove he is anything more than a training camp body. I would be slightly worried about the fact that the team interviewed Jimmy Garoppolo on the first day of East-West Shrine game practices.
I think Glennon is a hard working, accurate thrower with average athleticism and arm strength. He's got above average accuracy, something you can't teach, and above average touch. He'll make his way in the NFL with what's between his ears because his physical tools are not elite. That isn't an indictment of him at all. I'm glad we have him in Tampa, I'm just skeptical that he can take us to the promised land without some good, dependable weapons, a solid OL and a Top Ten Defense.
