During the press conference Coach was asked about hiring former players, Brooks in particular. While answering the question he stopped and said "Hi Mike" and the camera switched to show Alstott watching and the coach finished his answer finishing with the desire to have a former Buc on staff. I seem to remember Alstott's name mention once as RB coach under Schiano's first staff. Anyone think there may something to this?
Hope so. Dude was so fun to watch. He was a great athlete for his size.
Maybe. I thought it was interesting that when asked specifically about getting Brooks back in the building on staff, he didn't say no. He said any organization would be lucky to have Brooks involved and that Brooks is like a son to him....definitely left that door open. Either way, I really like that he stressed that he wants to get ex Buc players involved. He wants the greatness to be present and rub off on the new generation and I love it. He is bringing back the best part of Buccaneer history and making it work for us. I'm just stoked. We're getting the bad back together man!

I'm not sure you meant to write "bad" versus "band" but "bad" is actually quite fitting in this instance! (and I mean bad as in bad @ss)
Maybe Brooks in the front office, but just because Alstott was a beast of a fullb., err running back doesn't make him a good coach.
It was nice seeing Mark there in the audience.
I dunno if Mike will stop coaching HS football, but he would be a huge addition to the team.
Didn't Lovie already hire a RB coach? Former bears guy.
Swagger.
Not sure Brooks wants to be a coach. I think Lovie was more referring to great Bucs of the past being around the building to help build up a tradition of excellence, and add an aura to 1Buc that exists with older teams like the Packers or Bears. Yeah, I read on the Red Board Tim Spencer was our new RB coach. Shows up as such on Wiki too.

He did talk about reaching out to players and having the old greats have a presence around One Buc.....but he was specifically asked about hiring Brooks in some official capacity. I think it was meant more as front office, not coaching, because Lovie said that decision was beyond his job scope, but any organization would be lucky to have Brooks in the building. Then he said he would like to get some ex players on staff. That's when he paused and said "Hi Mike" so it kinda seemed like he was instigating something there. Maybe he had asked Mike and Mike said no.
