If Bridgewater Bortles and Manziel are gone, then any QB left at #7 can be had in the 2nd round

What about the Vikings?I am in favor of a QB at #7, but it would make me nervous if we took the 4th QB off the board.  That would mean we passed on one of Matthews, Clowney, Barr, or Watkins.

Reminds me a lot of Tony Romo with that quick release. He's got a gunslinger type mentality about him that'll make him either sink or swim. Haven't honestly seen enough games on him to make the call if he can pan out or not. If Tampa feels he is worth the shot then so be it. I can't say yay or nay because like I said limited live games I've seen on Carr. And he didn't look impressive vs a talented USC defense.

Yeah the things is you have to determine if you like Carr more than Mathews, Clowney, Barr and Watkins.  It also depends on how much you like Glennon (eg Watkins is obviously popular on this board).

Im surprised no one has mentioned the level of competition he has played against.

If a HC, GM, Scouts identify their guy as the future it doesn't matter where they pick them they are going to take them, it all depends on how they feel about Glennon going forward.

Tedford knows QBs. If he thinks Carr is the best triggerman for this team then I'm all for it. Quick release and mobile. Carr won't make it out of the top 10.

Level of competition goes to a certain degree, you can say that a bout a lot of guys who succeeded in the NFL, it really just depends on the player, besides a few games Bridgewater played against awful competition, Bortles also, I really don't read too much into that, have to look at the player overall if you ask me

Of course. And for all we know, Carr is the no. 1 QB on the Bucs board. I just remember the 2004 Draft where we took Michael Clayton, the 5th WR off the board. We could have had much better value at other positions (DL or RB).

I think reaching for Christian Ponder, after an early run of QBs, is still fresh in their mind.

so you think the new guy is gonna want to roll with Cassel?  They don't have much if a Chouce but to draft one although they might wait until the 2nd round.  Still not a good strategy for them.

It'll depend on who they hire, but I think whoever it is will get the benefit of the doubt the first year and they'll be expecting another high pick next year.

It wouldn't shock me. Glennon was Schiano's boy and if Lovie and Tedford review tape and don't like what they see they would be advised to seek out another QB.

Manziel or just sit back and draft someone else later. Bortles is this year's "prototype" crap and Carr looked like dog crap against USC. Nah thanks.

Rodgers sat for four years and got the chance to developTony Romo who didn't take off until he was 26What if we looked at ESPN's QBR? Looks like, as a rookie with limited weapons, Mike (45.6) is in the same area as Joe Flacco (46.7) and Alex Smith (49.4)Andrew Luck is a Franchise guy, right?343  570  60.2%  3,822  6.7  23  9  32  87.0247  416  59.4%  2,608  6.2  19  9  40  83.9God forbid Mike Glennon gets a chance in his 2nd year (biggest jump for players) with real WR (not 3rd and 4th string)
