Fans of this team are soooo scared of drafting QBs. It's always next year.
Next years QB class may be stronger but it depends a lot on which QB's decide to declare. Even if the Bucs don't draft a QB high in this draft there is still Mettlenberger, Murray, McCarron and Garoppolo for later in the draft for development.
I wouldn't rule it out - I think a quarterback IS in play at #7 depending on who's available. However, as I mentioned in another thread, when you pick a quarterback that high, the GM, coach and OC are married to the guy so you better be damn sure that he's likely to be a success. Smith and Tedford (and possibly the new GM) really need to evaluate Glennon before the draft and decide if he's good enough to get a shot at being the guy or if they have to get someone else.Frankly, I'd hate to be in their shoes this year. If they go with Glennon and he fails and someone they could have drafted lights it up, they are going to look bad. Draft someone and he turns out like Akili Smith and Glennon beats him out is also bad. The only way you get away with success in this draft is if Glennon at least looks okay and you pick a slam dunk pro bowl player.I'm still thinking the best player for the Bucs might be Sammie Watkins, but that's just MO.
Solid
No to Carr! I'd rather have Murray in the mid rounds or McCarron. Murray has the the arm talent and as for McCarron...you can't teach how to be a winner. Winning is a trait. You either got it or you don't.
Murray never won crap! Carr's team only lost once same as McCarron. And Carr has better arm talent than both of them.
Opps, my bad. McCarron has lost two in a row.
Someone please explain to me how a QB that throws 113 touchdowns to 24 INTs in 3 years is a bad pick at #7?

just as much as fans wanting to give up on players too soon.

josh Johnson? Nah, he didn't throw that many picks.

You are joking right? He has 3 National Championship rings ( I know 2 as a starter)

Carr does have weaknesses (poor footwork) and level of compeition is a legit critique. But yeah he has been productive

Good analysis. Tebow won too - lets get him.
I wouldn't be opposed to picking Derek Carr... it would certainly make next year have an interesting story line. Plus, he's probably rated better than Glennon in Madden, so we should definitely pick him.

Really? Im not gonna even respond. That's hilarious
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y54EIciZvTE This is a video that fairly assess Carr's strengths and weaknesses and that is based on footage from last season.
