Carr is basically a Glennon clone. I see nothing gained in drafting him. Not worried though. Lovie is a smart man and I don't see him handcuffing himself to Carr.
Really because their college career are nothing similar.

Don't stop him bro, he's on a roll tonight.
So all you anti Carr posters, if the Bucs did draft him are you abandoning ship? Drawing a line in the sand?
Carr's accuracy suffers when he is throwing off his back foot but that is the case with many young QB's (especially when under pressure). It will be interesting to see if Carr participates in the senior bowl as that is the best place for him to improve his stock again. There are rumblings that McCaron may choose not to participate which I believe would be a mistake.
Not rumblings, McCarron declined to go which to me is insane. His whole schtick should be I am smart and NFL ready and a coachable winner. Not going to the Senior Bowl means that his tape is all he has and the last tape he has raises a lot of questions about how good he is when he's not in the perfect Bama bubble.
Yeah we'll see what McCaron chooses to do but if he doesn't go that would be disasterous.Jdub: Carr is nothing like Glennon as these two QB's are drastically different. The only similarity they have is that they have footwork break downs but so does Bortles and Manziel...nothing revealing when dealing with young QB's.

Not even close. No clue how you can make the comment that he's a Glennon clone.
True . Glennon has better mechanics and better accuracy and is a smarter player.

I never abandon ship.I already said I wouldn't like it , but I'd give him a chance since he would obviously be the guy Tedford thinks he can develop to lead his offense , and Tedford is the QB guru. I'd keep an open mind. I'm not like Jdud .
In my humble opinion, I don't see Carr as a surefire pick at number 7. How one feels about Glennon is irrelevant. Not a wise move to pick a Qb and hope he beats him out when there are , in my opinion, surefire picks to be had such as Watkins , who would definitely elevate the offense and help any qb that might be brought in the future. But I am no scout and like others have said though, if he is Tedford's guy I will support the decision and root for the guy. I just feel it is too soon to completely rule out Glennon especially considering who was coaching him, the system he was in, and players he was playing with. I understand qbs such as Wilson and Luck had instant success, but many other great qbs took a few seasons to fully develop.

I'd venture that none of that is true. Carr has pretty good mechanics - again footwork is something you can gripe about with about 8 out of 10 college passers, is extremely accurate and has great ball placement and very smart. Glennon was a 58% passer his senior year, Carr is a 69% passer. Nothing close but keep trying.
Carr does offer quite a bit more mobility than Glennon, so calling him a clone was not accurate. While he can take off and be an effective runner, he isn't very good at avoid the pressure and extending the play though. To me, he just just another average pocket passer. And by the way he has completely choked in his two Bowl games, it appears he is far from clutch, just like Glennon. I don't really think he'd be an upgrade. Just my opinion.
No, not a chance...
if anything, you will see a LT go before a QB...

Not sure that extending the play is a big time skill I care about. He moves in the pocket well enough but he's not gonna go all Doug Flutie. He has choked so much as USC grossly outclassed very other player on FSU. These aren't the old Pat Hill Fresno teams that were actually top 25 capable this Fresno team is Carr and one WR and a bag of rocks. SC owned the Fresno line to an insane degree.
I just think he is a very average player who has inflated stats due to the aggressive spread offense he plays in. I would be willing to bet money he will never come anywhere close to 50TDs/8Ints in the NFL....and yet those numbers are the only reason he has been thrown into the mix as a top QB in this draft. I trust the eyes instead of numbers when looking at college QBs, and with Carr I tried to buy the hype. I wanted him to be a good option for us....but I just couldn't convince myself. He simply isn't very good imo.

Well no he's not gonna get 50 and 8 but no NFL QB is so that's no shock. I'm not sure how he fails the eye test. He plays like a real QB and makes big boy throws. Yes, they toss a ton of WR screens that pump up his stats but if you take all the QBs this year and chart their pocket passes that aren't screens he's gone be the second best guy to Teddy.
