I haven't seen this here and I think it's discussion worthy.
During his press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine, Arians was asked if he'd spotted players during his video review whose quality of play surprised him. He named wide receiver Mike Evans and linebacker Lavonte David -- two of Tampa Bay's top players -- but he also picked another Buccaneer who's not as highly regarded.
“And I can honestly say Peyton Barber," Arians said. "I mean, I’ve watched this guy now and I’m like, ‘Whoof!’ He’s so subtle in some of the things he does for a big man.”
In his third season with Tampa Bay, Barber became a full-time NFL starter in 2018. The former undrafted free agent from Auburn ran for 871 yards and five touchdowns on 234 carries and caught 20 passes for 92 yards and one TD in 2018.
“I love him," Arians said. "For a man that size, you know, when you watched the tape, you don’t see him as 230 (pounds). You think he’s a 205-pound running back because he’s got great feet.
"Not every back’s going to be a home-run hitter. He gets those 10-, 15-yard runs breaking tackles, power runner -- punishing runner. When we’re building something, that’s the kind I want to build around.”
I don't think Barber is a star but sounds like he is going to fit into what Bruce wants to do and thats a good thing.
