Matt Stafford does know how to throw a football.
was hoping for rams win and (in theory) more home games ... wasn't far from that
Just enjoyed some Dominos pizza while watching the Packers beat up on those choking dog Cowboys. DAL Humble Pie is for dessert.
This post is worthy of a 👍 except for the Dominos Pizza reference 😎

obviously need to take care of business tonight but im torn on what the better outcome was for Rams/Detroit
still have that sour taste in my mouth from the Rams punching us in the mouth at home in 2021 playoffs.
i was rooting for the Rams last night but feel Detroit can be beat
Wonder how long Jerry takes to drop the axe.
I think Bowles is gone with a L tonight
I think Bowles is gone with a L tonight
doubtful unless Glazers going big with a Bill B type hire
really depends how the team comes out. If they come out flat and lose 31-10, i think there's potential.
if they lose 31-28, a little different story

agree
multiple people who cover the Bucs point out no vote of confidence from the team before this game so that could be a bad sign for Bowles, but agree that a W or even a close loss and he’s probably back.
I think it's a matter of Licht and the Glazers have to sit down in a meeting to make an official decision, and why do that before the season is over? Would it benefit Bowles or the team for them to come out with a vote of confidence? I don't know that it would.I think Bowles is gone with a L tonight

One thing to consider is if you keep Bowles then you have a coach who's really on the hot seat next year because the expectation will be to improve upon this year. Usually if you have confidence in a coach you give him an extension of some kind. I don't see that happening unless they go deep into the playoffs. If Bowles does survive this year then he'll be expected to show more progress next year or his time will be up. That puts him immediately on the list of most likely to be fired next year. So he's going through the offseason and preseason with his team knowing he's already on the hotseat. Is that what they want? Fire him or extend him, but I'm pretty sure they don't want to extend.
well to be fair, this team was 4-7 and Bowles didn't deserve a vote of confidence.
then they won 4 in a row at 8-7 but still the job was not done.
they got their asses beat flat as hell against the Saints, then barely beat a shit Carolina team 9-0.
The Bucs have given very little confidence the last 2 weeks and the offensive spark from their 3 game stretch - ATL, GB, JAX - has disappeared.
Now, if the Carolina game would have been a 31-13 ass beating, then hell looks like the team bounced back from Saints disaster and trending in right direction.
The only reason a lot of us and the pundits pick the Bucs is because of how bad the eagles have been playing.
i think it's likely Bowles retains his job but if the team comes out flat for a playoff game, that could change.
Dallas is a great example. McCarthy losing to the 49ers in the playoffs likely wouldn't have got him on the hot seat but being the first #2 seed in history to lose to a #7 seed and in pretty convincing fashion and that tune has changed.
let's see how this game goes.
My main point is that Licht and the Glazers don't just have to talk about whether to let it ride with Bowles. They have to discuss where the team is going for the next three or four years and how to get there. Bowles has been around for two years, and in that time Licht should have been evaluating whether Bowles is the right guy for the job long term or not. If he is, extend him. If not fire him. Do you just let it ride for another year to see what happens? Maybe. But I'm not so sure that's how they'll approach it.
What a drive by the Bills

i think they know he is not the right guy but that also the expectations post Brady were not high and that we would have to bite the bullet on cap. We didnt have any choice but to promote Bowles when Arians stepped down.
so fast forward to this year, 3 years left on contract and the roster build of this team still needs some work. We are mid level talent, will be picking 20th, not likely to land legit potential QB of the future and could use another year to build around that potential QB in 2025 (so C, TE, G).
do the Bucs view Canales as a potential option? if they do, they keep Bowles and fire him mid year in 2024 if Bucs are faltering and they can see what's get got in a trial run.
Harbaugh and Belichick unlikely to come our way this year with Harbaugh wanting a perennial top 10 QB (i.e Herbert) and Belichick wanting those 15 wins for career purposes within next 2 years. That aint guaranteed with Tampa's current roster build.
so yes, that's the one situation where i think they would like to do better but Bowles has done enough to keep his job another year.
Steelers trying to crawl their way back into this one.
