Does Herbert hold on to the ball too long? He was sacked in excess of 90 times over the last two seasons. As I recall, that was a problem Harbaugh vowed to fix?
He was actually sacked LESS than Mayfield so far this season, but still sacked a lot.
Who had the Carolina Panthers leading the NFL in passing a quarter of the way through the season?
WTF is wrong with Justin Herbert?
The SD Chargers and Houston Texans are 0-4
The LV Raiders, NY Giants, and Cleveland Browns are 3-1
This season has started out as an absolute anomaly. Some other things related to your post:
Drake Maye looking terrible.
The number of starting QBs injured.
As part of the Chargers debacle, a Mike McDaniel offense looking completely discombobulated (and I agree with you, Biggs, about Herbert being the biggest problem with the offense).Crazy start to the season this year.
Lots of rushing TDs too.
Lots of rushing TDs too.
I havent looked at the rushing yards and percentages*, but NFL offenses are always cycling through the same basic stuff.
As soon as it becomes "a passing league" its already on its way to becoming more of a running league. Even with his knee issue, Andy Reid has Mahomes more under center to get the run game going and then the PA passing off of it. OLD SCHOOL is the NEW SCHOOL
(* In 2025, the team-level high for rushing attempts over a full season maxed out around 32.1–29.7 attempts per game for top-heavy run offenses like the Bears. In 2026, multiple squads have pushed past 33 to 35 attempts per game through the first four weeks.)
He does. PFF claims he has increasingly held the ball longer, which is part of his problem. And you are also correct, Harbaugh made a statement that he would help fix that from Justin's game.Does Herbert hold on to the ball too long?
