I think this was pretty much cut and dried. Clearly the very idea of losing Dirk Koetter and keepingLovie Smith when the positives of Dirk's offense were so overwhelmingly superior to the defense of Lovie's after two seasons was unacceptable to the Glazers. I think that is true for the fans as well.It was not worth the risk of losing Koetter just to keep a HC who was stubborn and could not improve the defense on the field. Lovie was a terrible judge of FA's, especially on defense.I imagine when he met with the Glazers on Monday or Tuesday and told them he was going to keep the course and his coaches on defense it was the final straw. It's as simple as that.
