VJ has done nothing but produce since being here. He has been worth his contract and really given us a reason to watch the past few awful seasons. He is a leader in the Lockerbie, and great in the community, but it may be best to move on. We can get more cap room, and I think it will be good for our offense in the long run. When you look at the best offenses, they can hurt you in many different ways. Think Gronk and Eddlemen, Nelson and Cobb, and Megatron and Tate. Thier skills all complement each other, many times featuring a guy who can go up and get it, and a guy who is a threat/homerun hitter. It allows for creativity on offense. With Mike and VJ we pretty much had 2 of the same player. It's great but if we had a different kinda WR to complement Mike (who is a stud and will only get better), we can start to develop a top tier passing offense. If VJ does walk I wouldn't be opposed to us going WR in the second and getting a guy like Coates or Devin Smith. Explosive guys who can take the off offenses. Hopefully ASJ continues to develop and we can give Winston, Mariota, or Glennon tools to work with.
