Have the Bucs been a product of bad luck or bad coaching?For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a franchise quarterback has not been a staple of the organization for a very long time. In fact, some will argue that the team has never really had one. Some Bucs fans will say that Doug Williams and Vinny Testaverde come close to that title. But like other quarterbacks that have donned either the old school orange, they went on to find success elsewhere after not spending much time in Tampa Bay.People say that the Buccaneers just need to "luck" into a quarterback. Often times the New England Patriots are used as examples due to drafting quarterback Tom Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft by saying they got lucky with his success. Fifteen years and four Super Bowl titles later, Brady is easily dubbed a Hall of Famer. But what if it has nothing to do with luck? What if Brady is just a product of a good coaching staff? The Patriots can seemingly plug anyone in at any position and be successful. Have you noticed? They traded away an All-Pro guard to the Bucs and still had one of the best lines in the NFL. They seem to rotate different receivers in and out of the roster yearly and Brady connects with them like they've played with each other for decades. That's not luck. That's coaching. And so here are the Buccaneers, staring at the first overall pick with the names "Marcus Mariota" or "Jameis Winston" ready to be called. Tampa Bay will undoubtedly have to choose one or the other. There are no excuses for not doing so.
