Its not as bad as it seems for Bain. Guessing but I would say Bain is more hurt than suggested. Watch him and he is almost all left, no hump move, no right counter.
The entire first half they play almost only straight four rush.
Bain is getting lots of attention, chipped doubled etc, but hes alos not doing great when he does get singled up against 1st rounder Mims (#71)
Bain is providing pressure on the pick 6 by Trotter. The play is a pre-snap double A gap blitz where Trotter drops out. Bain is pressuring.
Burrow is two step dropping a lot and the Bucs LBs and Nickel are unable to stop numerous quick passes. Multiple shotgun plays where Burrow immediately throws to the flats
In the second half they let Bain move around a bit and run a stunt or two for him. Nothing, maybe some pressure.
Bain only plays 64% of snaps but that is same as Diaby. Dropoff in pressure obviously when Nelson spells him
In the entire game Bain only drops out 3 times, one is a run play and the other two are Bucs defensive wins.He is not covering he is just dropping out and the plays are the other way, into the pressure.
Anzalone is a liability over and over again, bad coverage and missed tackles, a couple really bad overuns.Â
One of the problems for Anzalone is the pre-snap "deception." He's starting off a couple times at a deficit because hes faking pressure and having to retreat to the TE or RB
Tykee Smith isnt disciplined enough to play his actual role and both safeties are sometimes too small for the defense. On one of the run TDs you can see Bain throw his hands up in frustration. He is locked up with a lineman, almost as if he is waiting for a LB or S to fill and make the stop. AWJ is there but easily blocked by a TE
CB play is mostly good, but they are intentionally throwing quick, short and TEs . . like 2025.Â
The Bucs defense cannot stop quick passing to TEs and RB and until they do the front 4 isnt going to get much pressure
