Heres another morsel of fact for your hypothetical conjecture refinement. P'Ma's FISRT YEAR as a FULL TIME STARTER, was the very next year after he was drafted. He was afforded (an entire season btw) the opportunity to get Coached up, Learn A playbook, and develop stability and consistency- no pressure. Then Andy REID Unleashed his monster onto the NFL field with a chip on his Shoulder-Not many remember, but Ma'homy-the guy that is probably going to end up GOATING TB12, was considered a REACH at pick 10 in the draft. Reid wanted to let everyone know that HE SAW something in this guy. OH, the factual part, almost forgot, That season, the first full time one, was likely HIS CAREER YEAR, he had one year where he threw for like 200 more yards but 9 less td's...yeah, that is statistically his best year and you want to compare that to Baker with Gregg Williams at the helm...apples to apples.........
3rd Fact Morsel. How ABOUT THIS YEAR, another year in the same cozy system with the same Legendary Coach on the way to another SB year vs New year, new system, new coach, new "family," new town.... yet AGAIN journeyman.
4183 27 14 27
4044 28 10! 40 😖
Adding the first 2 Playoff games into it, changes things/the stat line even further tho, I dont think my brain can handle what that evidence may/might suggest!
Somebodies gotta learn to take less sacks or give the calls to an experienced C, sera sera, otherwise not as far as you would expect from The GOAT in his Prime compared to a "journeyman." Its Shocking to me at least.
na man, just take this years best 3 games and put them head to head. There is no way to compare apples to apples…Baller hasn’t had the same OC for more than a year no?
Mahomes first full year as a starter, he threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 TD’s.
I don’t care if you give Mayfield a full season sitting on the bench with Reid as his HC (like Pat had), he’s still not sniffing those numbers.
Hell, I’d bet $5K that Baker wouldn’t match that if you took a defender off the field and played 11 vs. 10.
Not an indictment against Baker, just more of a response to your silly argument wanting to compare the two in your “cherry picking/no context” scenario.
Never Said that he WOULD. And what DOES FIRST FULL YEAR AS A STARTER MEAN- I MEAN HIS ROOKIE YEAR-Oh, did he get to sit on the bench for a time and LEARN as a rookie'well'darn. P'Ma is the current active GOAT, and if ANYONE will pass TB12, it will be P'Ma. I give him a 50/50 shot at surpassing TB12 as the GOAT OF GOATS. But alas, he plays for the Cheifs, not here....But theres a guy, that can approximate some important traits. You know P'Mas gritty fiery play, his penchant for the SPLASH PLAY in crunch time, his leadership and wisdom despite being young, his coachability, his ability to develop tru comradery with his team mates, his ability as a passer AND SCRAMBLER, his arm talent, accuracy, strength decision making, killer instinct...all of those things. Lets say you had a QB that possessed, to a modicum albeit, those traits. The only thing that QB needs, perhaps, is an OPPORTUNITY to develop those natural inborn characteristics...lets be real here, the physical part is natural born gifts, its the mental part that BECOMES GENERALSHIP. I dont know about you, but when I see P'Ma and TB12, Dan Marino, Joe Montana...I see Field Generals first, and QB second. All of those guys NAILED IT!!!! So maybe our guy doesnt quite nail it, consistently enough, I say give him some real coaching and See What If...That is all. Like peoples argument regarding Trask and NOT KNOWING HIS POTENTIAL. I say the same about our Guy, I dont think we've seen what Baller is capable of with actual coaching and stability...thus far he's been COMPLETEY on his own and Haterz sprouted from the moment he was drafted by the Browns, NO ONE CAN FIX THE BROWNS, NOT BERNIE, NOT TB, NOT MA'Homey. ANd Baller was expected to fix that... Yeah, that guy was set up for success. And despite that, he STILL throws out GEMS, despite being on his own, having haterz poised all around him. His Coach (CUiNca'T) is a rookie and he goes out and has his BEST CAREER YEAR, has the best "split" in the first 2 games of the playoffs for his 3rd or 4th "Journeyman Destination, like wtf) and he throws out Gems like GB, like the stinkin iggles, like the Lions. He threw out Gems his entire career Pittsburg/KC just not consistently enough,...but wait theres MORE. His OC the C, that was supposed to provide him with some stability...FINALLY,...uhm, he jets for the opposition. This Guy doesnt even really know if hes gonna BE HERE next year EVEN after having this past year...yeah, thats called stability. Sure, Im game, We'll invent a time machine, go back in Time and swap Baller and P'Ma's circumstances and CONTEXT. P'Mah will have been drafted by the Browns first overall. He will Be Molded by HUE JACKSON AND GREGG WILLIAMS and BE EXPECTED TO BE THE SAVIOR of the BROWNS ENTIRE DESTINY. And then Baller can be picked 10th overall by Andy Reid, and just let flourish at his own pace (See above, first full year as a starter smh-environment) with good Coaching and some Ballsy playcalling is 5000k yards be completely out of the question in his first full year as a starter!, especially if Reid is out to prove a POINT. So maybe your right Baller doesnt get to 5K yards or 50 TDs, Maybe he gets 38 TDs and 4400 yards. Id Take that stat line all day every day, but lets approximate P'Mas "stat-line" as a rookie (no time for full time starter status, your not even the starter, youre expected to BE THE SAVIOR from Day1) with the Browns and HUE JACKson calling the plays hoping to save his JOB...P'Ma IS the first overall pick and savior afterall??? Get to saving dem'browns. Would P'Ma finish with about 3,725 passing yards? Or Maybe even surpass Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson for most touchdowns thrown in a rookie season with 27 up to that Point. Sure buddy. Maybe this is as close to APPLES AND APPLES AS YOU CAN GET, BUT this one takes a bit more abstract logic than most are able to muster. GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES and HYPOTHETICAL CONJECTURE OF WHAT IF, hmmm, I wonder whats about to happen THIS OofSeason. Popcorn at the ready, maybe crow as a light evening snack. Even a $10,000 gamble of a crow filled snack. Are you game to play. If you come, play to win...10g's.
You left out Fredo... Freddie Kitchens in 2019, who was every bit as bad as Huecifer
Then there's Joe Woods whose defenses gagged at least 5-6 wins a year
Never mind the fact the Browns have never had a #1 stud WR,,,,, ever. Not since Warfield
... and there's not one outstanding stud player on that team drafted by Andrew Berry even now, offense or defense

Mrs. Mayfield herself has joined in the conversation trying to compare Baker to…checks notes…Patrick Mahomes.
My God…
Baker Mayfield has had 6 years in this league to get his shit together. He continues to play the same. He has a career year here, and that equates to 4 regular season games where he played better than average. It's amazing how folks can continue to drool all over this dudes' junk when it's clear that he's basically at his ceiling. He may be able to squeeze in 2 more above average games, and keep the below average games to a game under half. But that's about it. If we keep him, we need an elite defense if we want a legit shot at winning it all.

My God…
Am I Ms. Mayfield? I may have read that wrong, I thought we respected each other more than that, or did u mean maddoc? Anyhoo, I didn’t create the facts on the stat sheet for this year, all I did was present…really only 2 real morsels of factual evidence. On the 3rd morsel I didn’t even bother to put out names because even that is pointless, the numbers are polar contradiction to what we suppose are also facts…it’s deep, but in the end, know one really knows anything until the box is open and either the cat is dead or alive-but it’s both, both then and now and laterz=just let them play and watch it unfold, who cares how it turns out as long as it’s entertaining!!! Popcorn at the ready!
tootaloo for now.

if his ceiling is the Greenbay game or the Iggles game or the KC game or the Pittsburgh game (those are 4 games like you mentioned above-not trying to cherry pick, sorry mea Culpa)…I’d take that vs what’s on the market right now. I mean all we gotta do is see more games like those and less clunkers….so consistency. I agree, but how exactly, is he just supposed to pull consistency out of his own asz while looking for a new place to call home every offseason, or worry about what offense he’s gonna have to learn the terminology and jargon for. Yeah, I say, let’s just give this guy 2 years in the same system and THEN decide if he’s developed as you would expect of someone more familiar in a system. Listen I’m not saying he’s Jeezus Christ or anything, I just feel like this dude hasn’t gotten a fair shake since he decided to play football, he’s only still in the game out of faith and stubbornness to shut his doubters up and make his supporters proud. At least that’s where I’m at here and now. You got a better option, I’m all ears, Crow dish at the ready!
Here’s an excerpt of just “a simpletons(me)” 1 second google search regarding the brown vs chiefs game…here’s just a partial And cherry picked first 2 Sentances of the “piece.” I like to keep it simple…just 2 sentences to “brew/chew/whatever” on.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Cleveland Browns entered the 2021 season with quite possibly their toughest task of the season in front of them—taking on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
While Cleveland dominated for most of the game, a few mistakes and missteps from the Browns cost them the game against a team that was bound to capitalize on any and all blunders. Now, many fans are looking to put the blame somewhere.
sounds a lot like…never mind, flipping the context to mirror This current days, same’ol’same’ol, challenges* may be asking too much of others. Mea Culpa.
PITTSBURGH -- — So much for the weight of history. Or practicing. Or having your head coach on the sideline. Or an emotional leader on the field.
The Cleveland Browns overcame all of it. The burden of carrying the mantle of a franchise that’s long been a punchline. A schedule ravaged by a COVID-19 outbreak. A rival that for years has treated them like a harmless little brother.
All of that’s over. For now. And maybe for good.
The Browns dismantled the Pittsburgh Steelers 48-37 in the wild-card round Sunday night, picking up the franchise’s first postseason victory in more than a quarter-century and earning a trip to Kansas City next Sunday to face the defending Super Bowl champions.
“We believe in the people in the room no matter what’s going on,” quarterback Baker Mayfield said. "We knew that everybody was counting us out. There was no extra pressure or anything. No one believed in us besides us.”

This is absolutely hilarious!
Mrs. Mayfield herself has joined in the conversation trying to compare Baker to…checks notes…Patrick Mahomes.
My God…
Am I Ms.
He's confused and looking for a therapist to talk him down from the ledge
if his ceiling is the Greenbay game or the Iggles game or the KC game or the Pittsburgh game (those are 4 games like you mentioned above-not trying to cherry pick, sorry mea Culpa)…I’d take that vs what’s on the market right now.
The problem with this line of thinking is that there are a lot of QB's out there that can give you an elite game from time to time during a season. What separates the good and bad QB's are the ones that are more consistent from game to game and the better QB's more consistently have above average games. Good QB's don't give you below average games half the season, which is what Mayfield did (9 out of 17 games were below average). And remember, that was a career year for him. That's his ceiling. Individual games don't represent a guy's ceiling. There are QB's that can't give you elite games ever, but those are normally late round QB's. Normally.
To sum it up, even if Mayfield doubled his elite games next year to 4 by converting two of his awful games to elite, he's still giving you 7 games below average. That's a recipe for hanging around .500. Might finish with 10 wins instead of 9 in a 17 game season (not 16). And it still leads to an early exit from the playoffs. I don't see him stringing together more than 2 good to great games in the playoffs, which means no Super Bowl. Rember the year he got to the AFC Championship game, he had Nick Chubb running all over everyone, so he didn't have to win it all himself on offense.
So it looks like 2021 was a good Year for the Browns they made the impossiblish Happen vs the Iggles Pittsburgh and then almost made magic happen again but he, his team, and coaches, and their refs simply made it too difficult vs the LIONS KC Cheifs and Ma'Homey heir apparent GOAT. But wait theres more, 2021 wasnt THAT long ago was it, I know I get it, my perception of flow of time has evolved as I have aged and 2-3 yead ago feels like just yesterday, for example my son is expecting his first, my daughter turned 18 4 weeks ago and I turned 43 2 weeks ago....and its gone by in a flash- I even realized that the perception of a "flow" of time (forward-for example- is just the best our meaty simpleton brains and conceptualize it) however Einstien- smart dude- suggested that our perception may be inaccurate based on MATH cool. He and I SHARE a NUMBer in common 162- not the best or highest- but consider the tool, imperfect? I digress, again, WTF happened to the guy since 2021? How many times has he been fked over, most recently when Big Canales (I hope pineapples are in your future- and not the probowl ones but the lil-niCki ones) bolted on him after teasing him....again.
Its ok if you dont follow my logic, its not even meant for you to be able 2. Im just giving U Many thoughts to ponder brew/chew/whatever on. Learn to enjoy correcting INGRAINED beliefs. Enjoy taking your very next step, and maybe that step-as insignificant as it sounds (think butterfly effect + Schrödinger's cat having a baby), takes you closer to yoUr pUrpose (Ill use less symbolism- it makes things unreadable- but notice how I capitalized the "U's" there, that was intentional in order to imply this is Ur joUrney- the C above in Lil'niCki, the C refers to Canales in Caroline and being a Cun't 3 for the price of one) rather than away from it. Life, right, what else can yoU* dU* to change yoUr cUrrent sitUation aside from JUST KEEP SWIMMING-DorI- and put one foot INFRONT of the other towards UR goal/purpose instead of Away from It. U gotta dU it consistently tho or you wont get Anywhere. Back to Ballerz, I guess he has as much a shot at being great as I do in regards to loving the taste of CROW, thats impossible no? Loving the taste of Crow can any humans Favorite dIIsh be cold tough CROW, like for real? I counter- serve me up a plate, PEASE, Im hUngry. Listen its ok, its OK yUor welcome- D. Johnson (D? Johnson...OH wait, Bwahahahaha), Im just me beIng me, and tryIng to stImUlate Ur conjectUre...it kinda helps grow U as a human, and vice versa.

The problem with this line of thinking is that there are a lot of QB's out there that can give you an elite game from time to time during a season. What separates the good and bad QB's are the ones that are more consistent from game to game and the better QB's more consistently have above average games (AGREED, however, his CONSISTENCY variable I discussed AT LENGTH, both factually and hypothetically ad nauseum above, however no one reads my stuff because its either A- to challenging a read=Chaff OR it challenges a "dug'in" belief, like the possibility that Ballerz can become consistent HERE and NOW, can we just wipe the slate clean? Lets forget every play ever up until now and just give him the next game to see if he has improved- one foot closer to his purpose and all that) Good QB's don't give you below average games half the season, which is what Mayfield did (9 out of 17 games were below average). (Another good point- Tru, it shouldnt happen in theory, but people CAN change and old dogs CAN learn new tricks- I just taught my English Bulldog who is 8 how to sIt, fInally. But I believe, that he can do it, he wIll fInd consIstency-WITH HELP AND sUm Consistency in his HOme). And remember, that was a career year for him (It was, hes growing DESPITE the adversity- NOthing has been handed to him). That's his ceiling (Green Bay? The Iggles? KC? Or PITT- or are we only allowed to cherry pick from poor performaces- rather than the great ones- in order to gauge his Potential Ceiling???). Individual games don't represent a guy's ceiling (Ceiling may mean different things to us, Ceiling to ME refers to a potential or flash of potential- and yeah, I believe that you can see a flash of potential, a flash of "Ceiling" in a single game, You saw the GB game no?, i didnt, but I watched the Iggles and Lions games and he was probably the best performer on the field on THOSE 2 games, just IMHO- So if either of those 2 game CoUld represent hIs CeIling- Im gud wIt* Dat). There are QB's that can't give you elite games ever, but those are normally late round QB's. Normally.

(Who cares how many games yoU wIn durIng the regUlar season as long as we get INTO the Playoffs-Im cool with winning the division again with 9 wins every year, as long as we get HOT in the playoffs and make a run like we did this year. Just maybe next year we wont havea to fight against an NFL agenda of the Lion'sand/or9er's narrative, refs, Bowles, ME!!!3 int, last Pass to Otton, Y???, maybe Bowles calls a time out next time or challenges the refs next time-He doesnt even deserve the opportunIty to return as HC-hes aPuC=bPhc). And it still leads to an early exit from the playoffs. I don't see him stringing together more than 2 good to great games in the playoffs, which means no Super Bowl (Agree to disagree, I feel that we got robbed. The opportunity to FACE the 49rs for the NFC championship game was taken from him by horrendous penalties and awful coaching and in game decision making, particularly with the 4th quarter Prevent Defense approach- The Lions wer trucking the 9'rs at least until I stopped checking. I get it, the 9'rs came back-Amazing bravo JL John Lynch- BUT THAT COULDA BEEN US, so not terribly far, 2 games away from the SB- give this GUY another chance). Rember the year he got to the AFC Championship (He DID didnt he. Sorry didnt watch it-wasnt bucs related) game, he had Nick Chubb running all over everyone, so he didn't have to win it all himself on offense (didnt have to do it all himself on offense, huh- I heard that here as well, and I see it in those article excerpts above- I wounder what I would read on in the Rams news when he was "subbed'in, would it continue to be a similar story line but in a different colored jersey?).
OK, I tried to highlight many of yUor Excellent points. I replied to the best of my ability with just one cup of coffee this morning, watch out, I may have better responses after my second cup'o'jo. Let me know what you think, and particularly where yoU thInk my reasonIng is in error.
Shaun King agrees with Derrick Brooks' take on Mayfield:
“I wouldn’t want to pigeonhole myself contractually into living in the past, which would be: Baker outperformed what we thought, now we’ve got to pay him what other starting quarterbacks are getting when they hit free agency,” King said.
“I think the move is to sign Baker to a two-, three-year deal where the team has the leverage on the backside of it, and draft the right young quarterback,” King said
Now that QB (Mayfield) has substantial leverage over the Bucs
(Also from King - FWIW .. . “Obviously the Kyle Trask pick, in hindsight, was a bad pick, especially because it was in the second round. You could have added a significant piece, and Trask hasn’t been able to beat out anyone.”)
