Not sure Al Golden would leave his current situation for the mess that Penn St is. He is finally starting to rebuild Miami. I think Mike Munchak gets the job.
The mess is over though. That was O'Brian's job, and he did a great job considering the circumstance's.
This is great news. This means that the position at Penn State is open for Schiano and Lovie is still available. Drinks all around!

You think PSU wants him anymore than we do?
NFL Network just reported that if O'Brien leaves, Penn State is going to make a strong push to hire Schiano, so yes.

Please god take him
If the Glazers fully intend to keep Schiano, and Penn State comes calling, I bet Schiano is gone. That's his dream job IMO. I'm Penn States new biggest fan.

I take back all the awful things I ever said about PSU. It is a plum of a school, Happy Valley is a prime place to spend time. Go Greg, run, be joyous in your new home.
The same report also said Schiano has made it clear he wants to stay in Tampa. Before all of this I was 90% certain the Glazers were going to clean house tomorrow. But now they may feel they have a possible out and knowing the Glazers don't want to pay 2 coaches if they don't have to, I can almost see them firing Dominik tomorrow while keeping Schiano. No new GM worth their salt will want him as the hc so the handwriting will be on the wall: take the PSU job if it's offered or be fired under a new GM if you don't.

Well I am if they hire my "favorite " coach Greg Schiano. If they hire some bum then no I still will hate them but anywhere the masterful football mind of Greg Schiano goes I must cheer for.
Schiano is a recruiting nightmare for Penn State based on his reputation mauling this season. They're just getting over the last scandal they had up there an they want to hire a guy that the media is still taking shots at for things that never happened. How are they going to convince any parent to let their kid go there when they have to wade through explaining away child abuse at the school, rumours that are treated as fact about leaking medical info, how the HC "ruined a young mans life" (Freeman), etc.I just don't buy that they want Schiano based on the extra baggage he brings along (not saying it's his fault but it's there) at a time when there own past is still so fresh in peoples minds.Lets not forget Schiano was on the staff of Paterno who helped cause all their recent issues so there is also that link, having ties to the school isn't always a positive.
I don't see this "extra baggage" you speak of. Seriously, I don't. No one cares about the Freeman stuff anymore. It was never proven he leaked any records. He didn't "ruin" Freeman's life either.

You don't think a parent who is sending their kid away for 3 to 5 years to be guided by a guy is gonna look at his history and see all the stuff from this year and think "hmmm, maybe not the guy I want looking after my kid."Schianos reputation is still taking hits even now in the media who refuse to admit it's lies (for the most part).
No one cares about the Freeman stuff besides the people who had/have a serious hatred for the guy. Most recruits will probably think it's awesome he has experience as a NFL head coach. Not many college coaches can say that.
Don't see the baggage transitioning to a college team. I don't like Schiano but I'd trust my kid to play college ball for him. He isn't a bad guy character wise and has a history sending guys to the pros. Plus he now has more insight into the NFL. Plus he is still probably regarded highly in that NJ-eastern PA area.
